martyyn: mattRSK: It asks for my CC details when I try to sign up for the free trial. I can use the free version because all that needed was my Facebook details, but if I want the free trial of Premium it want the CC details.

Glengus: Yes its a BNZ Visa. But Ive also tried with a Kiwibank Mastercard and thats always declined too.

myopinion: My primary currency was set to GBP (I buy plenty from ebay.co.uk) so I changed it to NZD but no dice. As for the VPN, thats something I hadnt thought about. One of the machines is set up with unblockus but the laptop Im on now isnt on anything.

?

I know there have been online payment issues with nz credit cards this week, particularly bnz ones, that might be your problem! Some websites are saying contact your bank to get added to a list of allowed cards!

Ok I get it. They are now offering a 48 hour free trial of premium without a credit card with the option to extend to 30 days without entering a card. After that I suspect the credit card problems described here will occur.

Why oh why is it so slow to sync songs to a phone, I have 230 to sync and am only up to 77, and that is a combination of syncing last night and since 12pm today.

I don't seem to have that issue semigeek and I'm synching via the extreme setting. What level of sync are you using? Maybe extreme is faster?! Now that would be strange.

No extreme setting on Android, not that I can see.

Ive tried the highest sync setting on the IOS version and its still the same.

It syncs A LOT faster over 3G for me. So it could possibly be the slingshot 'unlimited' plan I'm on slowing it down.

you can choose to sync high quality or low bandwidth on android, similar to the ios version it seems, I havnt noticed any trouble over wifi on my gb 2.3 android, but then again i havnt tried to sync a huge playlist.  it is a little annoying that instead of transferring the files from a pc to your mobile it only appears to transfer the playlist and then re-downloads all the actual data on that device again.  This is a downside compared to itunes/music hub way of doing it, stops you having rubbish versions of a song though

Given this is a music streaming service NOT downloading service I fully understand this,  think about how the money flows and it makes perfect sense.  I also imagine the "downloaded tracks" for offline listening are tied to the specific device via some key as well.

True, and its not like music files are are big deal as far as bandwidth

I havnt tried pushing them onto another device, I imagine some will hack the player/file type, but I'm certainly happy to pay for a descent service.

The App layout is quite different to some of the traditional mainline types, I have just stumbled accross online playlists based on genre, thought something was missing. If you search for anything it gives online playlist results! quite handy

Glengus: descent service.
lol, hope you're not saying it is morally corruptiing.

.. interested in any experimenting moving files from one device to another, I haven't activated the free trial as yet.  But if I get a couple of these around the house that might change http://www.sonos.com/shop/products/play3
