DarthKermit:

I hate all the Americanisms creeping into articles supposedly written by Kiwis. Gas station, side walk, pay cheque and $h1t like that.

Yes - and it’s not just in written form either. e.g. Really dislike NZ sports commentators who say ‘dee-fence’ for defence - should still be ‘diffence’. Same for ‘oh-fence’. And ‘sem-eye’ for semi.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

...and in their initial article on the death of President Bush (Snr), Stuff said "Bush was the United States 41st President and the SON of former US President George W Bush".

Son, Father, whatever.  They're interchangable, aren't they?

Quote from a post-match interview.  I expect what Rudan actually said was: "It couldn't have been more one-sided."

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Not a headline, but this Stuff article is really strange. It contains several quotes, and all but one begin with a double-quote mark (") but end with two single quotes (''). It's particularly noticeable with the font that Stuff uses, but not so much with Geekzone's.

From the article: "... the Daily Mail reported."

Yep, nothing to see here.

He probably said “couldn’t’ve” - which is okay in itself - but then people write that as ”could’nt of” when it should be written as “couldn’t have” as you say.

Article about recycling shows "photos" supplied by people who came to New Zealand to say our recycle is polluting their country. Fair enough complaint.

Not fair is having a can of Coke Zero with Spanish label ("A Coke Zero can from New Zealand found dumped in Malaysia.") and a box of 7Up with US contact details ("At Malaysian dumping sites, Greenpeace found plastic items clearly marked as having been purchased in New Zealand.") to be shown as evidence of New Zealand pollution.

Having worked for a non-profit dolphin-safe company, I lost all respect for Green Peace.

We broke the story of dolphins drowning in Tuna nets. Green Peace used our video without permission or credit for advertising.

We paid people to live on hundreds of tuna boats just to observe catches, hour-by-hour, day-by-day, month-by-month, year-by-year. Greenpeace made posters, banners, commercials and begged for money for themselves.

I can see why Kuala Langat Environmental group found it alluring to use Greenpeace to get their message out, as publicity is pretty much all Green Peace do.

However Kuala Langat may have lost a funding opportunity, such as building a plastic recycling plant on grants, by allowing Greenpeace to take all the publicity.

I hope Kuala Langat enjoys their video spots, posters, and banners.

No idea what publication it's from, I shamelessly stole it of Facebook, but thought it apt to put here:

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
