I am really fed up with everything Google. I try to avoid it as much as I can but it is ubiquitous.

Even more annoying is the fact that most of the alternatives are actually not as good.

For example, Duck Duck Go is nowhere near as efficient a search engine as Google. Apple iOS typing is nowhere near as good as Android typing etc.

Eva888: They can protest on the lawns of Parliament
But then no-one would see them signalling their virtue. What's the point of being vegan if you can't loudly rub it in everyone's faces?

I am reminded of a joke.

Q: How do you know if someone is a vegan?

A: Don't worry - they'll soon tell you.

It might be annoying (really annoying) but try to bear in mind they make cars by the thousand but they don't make new MikeB4s or muppets.

Very true and both parties are insured. To add to the annoyance I doubt if the repair will be completed by Christmas so I doubt we will be taking our caravan away. I am currently looking to buy a second car so we will have transport as my medical situation makes a car vital.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Also on the vegan issue, I have noticed that it is never plain old vegetarians you see referenced. Always the hard core vegans.

I think that's because for vegetarians, it's a food choice.

For Vegans (the hardcore ones) it's a religion

Buying your wife a new phone, moving all the data and apps across, ensuring everything is working well, then trying to move the simcard and sdcard across, Sd card is recognised, simcard isn't. Tried to remove to check and the simtray is 'stuck'.

I see it's an issues others have experienced. Called Samsung, who don't seem surprised, but want me to take it back to ths store, who will then send it back to them, to inspect, which will take 2-3 working days... :(

It has the dumbest sim tray design ever with the sim on one side and sdcard on the other. A straight exchange might have been an option if the sim and sdcard weren't stuck in it.

Frustrating.

How somethings change. When I was a kid Lemon-based soft drinks had a crispy, nice flavour.

I don't usually buy Sprite - perhaps once or twice a year. Bought one this weekend and the whole thing now tastes like carbonated water, sugar and like someone waved a lime over a hole vat of the mixture. No flavour really.

That's because all of the artificial toxic cancer-causing chemicals that made it taste good have been removed.

When I was a kid, living in the South of Brazil there were two lemon drinks - Minuano and Charrua (the first word is from Minuano, the cold southerly wind that goes over the pampas in winter, not much different from the southerly in Wellington and the second a tribe native to that area). Minuano bought Charrua and ultimately Coca-Cola wanted to introduce Sprite in Brazil so they bought Minuano.

It tasted so good.

When I was a kid, I really enjoyed Fanta. We are talking the 1950s here. For some reason I never liked Coke. Still don't. Not that I have tried it for many, many years.

Edited to add: I might have liked Coke better if it still contained cocaine. I can't say for sure.

i loved Fanta when i was a kid and you  can imagine my surprise when i  went to Hawaii in the late 70's and asked for a Fanta and to be asked  "What flavour " blew my little mind.  😀

Fanta is another one. Bought a cup other day and it certainly doesn't take "orange" like the old times.

I still buy Guarana Antarctica, even here in New Zealand. Always have a few cans around.
