I despise the modern marketing machine that sees Christmas decorations up in October and Easter Eggs on the shelves from 01-January but I make an exception for hot cross buns. Hot cross buns really should be available all year round.

"ad breaks" in series that are specifically made for streaming services that don't have ads...i.e. Star Trek Discovery - long "fade to black" moments to transition as if ads were going in that space.

That the end of 2020 has given me something new to deal with like there has not been enough already. I have started to get very bad and painful spasms in my legs, hands, back and neck. Somewhat embarrassing while out as my hands get twisted all out of shape. No idea why but I guess another challenge to deal with.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Government departments that tell you you can have $x from the available business development grants. Then tell you that they can only issue half of $x at a time. Then when you go back to get the other half, tell you that the money isn’t available any more, leaving you half way through a spending commitment you wouldn’t have incurred unless the grant was on offer.

World’s most terrifying phrase:

“Hi. I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

Business life is hard enough in tourism at the moment without this level of incompetence.

Perhaps we need to do it more the American way. Stores get to decorate for Halloween, and Christmas decorations don't start before November.

Perhaps the way to do it is Summer, Easter, Autumn, Winter/Matariki, Spring, Halloween, Christmas. Will 7 sets of decorations be enough to not exhaust people's patience with advertising Christmas and other events too soon?

The number of people driving while using a phone in their hand!

Currently we are a detour Street due to Road Works. All day you see it! They don't half make it obvious if they are texting - the queue ahead of them has long gone!

.... and they are on the road with you and me!
