freitasm:PBT Couriers. One day from Tauranga to Wellington. One day at depot waiting for driver. Four days with driver... Three calls one, email and no one can tell me when it will be delivered.

When they started in the 90's, they had the nickname down here of: "Pretty Bloody Terrible Couriers"!

Nothing has changed!

I have an important document sent by NZP International Courier to LA for $60 last Wednesday.

Where is it? In LA?

No. Auckland mail centre. It’s moved 700 km in a week. Within the same country.

I had something couried via DHL, from Sydney to Wellington. Departed Thursday afternoon. Delivered Sunday 9am.

PBT can't delivery something from Tauranga to Wellington in a week.

Farmers (store) advertising a kitchen knife, in which I’m interested, at 40% off. Check availability on their website and find (a) not available online (that’s OK) but (b) only three of their 16 stores in the Auckland area have it in stock. Closest is in Papakura - I’m on the N Shore.

Ask them to transfer it to your closest store.

We have done this many times.

That’s a great idea - hadn’t thought of that - all set up now. Glad I posted it here.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The arsonist who's been lighting fires on Chch Port Hills.
Don't know if the fire today is arson, but a person(s) has lit several over the past few weeks.
So completely dumb, antisocial, pointlessly destructive, and dangerous.

Geektastic: Oh. Right. Grammar police dispatched to @networkn!

I thought he meant some sort of advertising campaign for the schools themselves or the positions of pupils within.

How should I have formatted it?

Having spent a small fortune on my car to have it serviced and repaired, then finding that one of the issues that caused me to take it in to begin with, has returned and is worse than before!

After spending over $3k on repairs, I'd expect the car to be running well...

I realise this is annoying, but turn it around the other way: How often have you spent ages definitely completely fixing a computer problem, only to have it mysteriously reappear again a few days later? So it's not necessarily the fixer's fault, it could just be one of those bastard problems that's impossible to fix.

Oh, one other thing: If it's a European car, never ever take it to the authorised repair place, because once they've gone down the printed checklist they've reached the end of their capabilities. Take it to the slightly dodgy looking place out in the industrial estate run by the guy who opens when he feels like it, can be paid in beer, and can diagnose a fault by sniffing the tailpipe. Since they're not authorised dealers they can't just order in an $8,000 replacement washer but have to actually know what and where the faults are and how to fix them.

The fact that Apple’s swipe to type accuracy is so, so awful compared to the Android versions I’ve used.

Email from Toyota today, reminding me that my vehicle needs a service.

"At Alert Level 1, we will continue to prioritise the safety of our staff, visitors and community. We have modified our health and safety practices to ensure our site remains safe for you and others."

Wash & Vacuum: Due to reduced staffing levels, we are unable to offer the complimentary wash and vacuum until further notice.

This is essentially the same email that they sent during level 3, and I could understand the reduced staffing levels then - but to continue claiming that during level 1?

Endless email junk from companies wishing me Happy Christmas.

We aren't friends or family. I sometimes buy stuff from you. You don't know who I am and the only thing about me that you are interested in is my money. Cease and desist from this saccharine faux matey behaviour and revert to a simple professional relationship please. You're nothing but a non "real person" entity set up to conduct trade. I shall also add that I am not interested in what causes you purport to "care" about either.
