Kindle and accessories are sold by Amazon Digital Services rather than just Amazon.. maybe that is the distinction?

Most products shipped using the AmazonGlobal Program that are sold by Amazon.com are eligible for AmazonGlobal Saver. Items 20 lb. or more, certain oversize items, e-documents, software downloads, music downloads, Kindle devices and accessories, and gift cards don't qualify.

Canceling items, combining orders, or changing your shipping address, speed, or preference might affect your order's AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping eligibility.

If your order doesn't qualify for AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping:

The order may contain ineligible items.
A special product, order, or handling fee may still apply.
An eligible item that was canceled brought the total below $125

Well, my experience of free delivery so far isn't the best.

Had an email this morning saying that my order, due to be delivered on 25 Feb, had been returned to Amazon as undeliverable. No reason given.

I have started a case with CS to find out more. The address has been used for Amazon deliveries many times before so not really sure what's going on.

Just heard back.

Apparently the item was damaged in transit so delivery was stopped. Amazon have asked me to reorder with standard shipping and said they will refund the shipping cost. Nice.

Well a package (tablet) that was shipped on Feb 11 arrived today so that's pretty good delivery time.

I think it is fair to say that Amazon, which used to be 'just Amazon' has made using it a good deal more complex with all these myriad variations masquerading under the same apparent store.

I'm not sure that they have helped their customers with that.....

Well I'd have to say I am so impressed with Amazon most days. I placed an order last night, est delivery to where I will be in the US, was 3-7 March, jumped into chat this morning, explained I was a little concerned and they upgraded my shipping and it will be there in 2 days.

I didn't expect nor ask for it, but they did it anyways.
