Joy Division - documentary film on (funnily enough) Joy Division.

Great film with interviews of all the key players in the life of this great band. also has some great archival footage of live performances. If you liked Control then you will probably enjoy this to.

Doubt: I saw this at Reading Courtenay last night, and before I get into it I want to know what is with the seats at Reading??! SOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! The arms disappear halfway down the seat - terrible design. The Gold Lounge is great, but I think for any other regular movies I'm going to stick to the Embassy or Sky City Cinemas. Tsk tsk Reading.

That said, LOVED Doubt! It was exactly what I was hoping for. Long dialogue driven scenes, heavy on the confrontation and conflict. Stand-out performances from Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Deep subject matter too but it doesn't take sides against the characters, other than to universally condemn the topic itself. An outstanding film!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

It was an interesting movie that felt like it dragged on just a little too much. It was a movie based upon some amazing imagination and science fiction (so to speak). I thought it was ok, but it wasn’t (in my opinion) Oscar standard. I now learn it has been nominated for 13 oscars. I would give it a 7/10, about the backwards journey of an individual from old man to baby.

I thought it was a good movie too, but half an hour before the finish i got restless and desperately wanted to walk around, overly long is an understatement, but don't get me wrong its a good movie. The Forest Gump of the 2000's, clearly they got there inspiration from said film. I would be surprised if it doesn't walk away with most of the 13 oscar's it is up for

Not sure if it`s been mentioned, Eastern Promises is sheer class. I`ve had it for over a year, but never watched it because the trailer didn`t get me interested. The trailer doesn`t do the movie justice, highly recommend it. Not light-hearted entertainment though.

If honest work and justice are not enough - we'll get a lawyer.

Seven Pounds: Im surprised it hasnt been mentioned. Will smith is probably my favourite actor, ive enjoyed his work from his humble beginnings on The fresh prince. This was a good movie, with a good plot although me and the missus were scratching our heads wondering what the heck was going on up until about 3/4 of the way through where it finally starts to peice it self together, i had it all worked out from there and knew what to expect but the ending came to a suprise to the other half and the water works were in full effect.. Great movie, and worth your $$..

Without a paddle 2: i dont quite know what excatly i was thinking when i picked this one up, my god what trash!! i liked the first one so thought id give the second one a go, really should have checked out imdb first!

Breathing Room: a horror in the sense of saw (and another movie that the name escapes me at the moment) Where several people wake up in a room and have to figure out why they are there, and how they are going to get out.. A rubbish movie, even after finishing it i still didnt quite know what had happened and why they were there.. avoid this one! the missus is still giving me grief over it! :)

Eden Lake: In my opinion an awesome british thriller! Good acting, and a scary premise.. In my partners opinion a "twisted horrible movie", you can see how our opinions differ, haha. I thought it was great anyway, and if you like a thriller with a bit of gore you will like it (when i say gore i mean it, a bit of torture etc.. its nothing on the level of The hills have eyes (2006 remake) or anything like that though.)

This weekend ive been conned into seeing revolutionary road, i cant say im looking forward to it, but after making her sit through eden lake i guess i owe it to her..

The movie i was thinking of was Unknown. Which is actually quite good! But breathing room, im still not quite over that tripe. The Cube series of movies were good, well 1 and 3 were, i wasnt too impressed with 2..
