Lol and that's exactly why I would flock to the hills! Number 1 zombie survival tactic is to keep away from urban population. The infection rate would be extreme in the cities and towns - you would have to be mad to try barracade the door in an office or home in a populated area. The zombies will eventually get you! But of coarse you can always wave them a picture of a gatling shotgun if that works for you before they devore your brains :)

We all say we will barricade our houses or go into the hills and build a cabin. But how many of us have the neccacary skills to build a cabin or would be able to successfuly barricade. Also This is New Zealand, how many guns really are there, not to mention guns stores. I can think of 3 in the Wellington region. Could be more. I have all sorts of ideas of what I would want to do, but the reality is I would probably be screwed. I'll get owned by a zombie then go try to get more people.

That is why I ordered this book last night: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0425232549/uncrate-20

As for baracades, I have a large pile of packing crates to use and an extensive selection of tools at my disposal :)

Totally agree - thats why I went and did some clay pigeon shooting the other day.

Now I have the location of a secluded farm, with plenty of shotguns, and ammunition!

As well as that I got some practice in for those fast moving zombies that can jump out at you from any direction.

It's not hard to acquire the necesary 'skills' to survive a zombie outbreak. If you couldn't get your hands on a gun there would be other ways around it, most of New Zealand is made up of native bush and forest. Even if you didn't have the tools etc to build a fort or a cabin you can still run can't you? Im sure zombies can't climb tall trees lol

I expect if they can't climb a tree, they can wait around at the bottom for you to fall due to exhaustion / hunger / thirst :\

I do believe I have finally found the answer.

A US company, Vivos is planning to build 20 of these underground shelters around the US, each of which could hold 200 people for 12 months, and includes medical, entertainment and other facilities to make your stay during the zombie apocalypse as comfortable as possible.

At around US$50,000 per adult it will ensure you won't have to worry about the commoners.

Folks, I found some information that are quite important to this topic...

First, May is Zombie Awareness Month, according to the Zombie Research Society.

Also, an interesting article about The Best and Worst Restaurants to Hide from Zombies. That entire site is about zombies, actually.
