help me with a common argument i have with the missus(well.. its more of a humorous discussion)

my idea of the ultimate zombie survival strategy is the same as my general "world gone mad" scenario

i would love to have a shipping container buried under my house stocked with food and water ... maybe a porta pottie and hooked into the mains so that in the event that Zombies or annoying relatives invade i can sit down there, surf whats left of the web eat some pizza and wait for it all to blow over

she sees that as just stuffing myself into a unescapable box ready for brain comsumption
Her idea is to run for the hills and just keep moving, living off god knows what and possibly throwing the odd child to the critters to make them avoid us

in this Deadly serious situation
whats your opinion?
what would you do

I reckon you'd be better off with a Truck with a shipping container / self contained unit.

yeah the truck would be cool and mobile, but the great joy of the hole under the house defense is that its always close to hand and no one would know it was there!

a truck in the back garden would kind of stick out

Under the house? You would be a prisoner there and sooner or later run out of food and other necessities.

After seeing Zombieland, I'd say stick to the rules.

And probably a 4x4.

I think the best place to be would be a prison. Nice big strong fences, multiple layers of defence, lookout towers to take out the oncoming hordes, lots of outdoor areas to grow crops and try to be self sufficient.

I've been reading too much of "The Walking Dead"....

Also, it's obvious you should include training in your strategy - lots of zombie killing training.

Didn't Will Smiths character try this idea in "I am Legend".  While problably not strictly Zombies, the principal was the same.....and (SPOILER ALERT BELOW)

- he ended up dying in there...

As history has shown us, the Killdozer has its flaws. You need to be nuts to build and drive one.

The other thing you need to worry about apart from the zombies are other survivors, will they want to join you and help defend against the zombies or try to take your supplies and weapons to save themselves?

This book might be of interest to you.

A container ship with containers full of food. Anchor off shore.
