What's going to happen to whatever stock is left over when they actually close the stores? Rubbish bin?

I'm just wondering because surely it will get to the point that they will start selling goods at heavy losses/well below costs just to get some cents in the dollar back? I mean if they don't shift them come closing time, they won't get anything for them.

Most likely the receivers will auction off the remaining stock in lots. Although some of the smaller stuff may not be economic to transport back to a central point so in that case they may be thrown in the rubbish!

Dropped into the Henderson store yesterday out of morbid curiosity. No bargains (from my perspective) to be had which is what I expected. I was surprised to see a shelf full of printers that all had Sold Out signs on them. I don't get the point of keeping the floor models handing around (and I've never heard of a 'dummy' display printer).

Good news is they still have plenty of HDMI cables and 30 Pin iOS charging cables remaining at inflated 'discount' prices, so you don't need to rush.

Most likely the receivers will auction off the remaining stock in lots. Although some of the smaller stuff may not be economic to transport back to a central point so in that case they may be thrown in the rubbish!

If they send the remaining stock to auction they will get almost nothing for it. An auction company will bundle 20 30-pin iOS charging cables together and be lucky to get $5 for that lot. Incrementally discounting everything until it gets to zero will (IMHO) get them the best return. And on the last day if what little remains is free, it's still cheaper than dumping it.

I had a look in an Aussie store on the weekend and they seem to be full of old phone and tablet cases along with lots of HDMI and coax cables - basically what's in store here.

Just looking at their inventory really is another sign of how badly things were being run.

Probably my last time I walk into the DSE store.

That's what I did a few weeks ago but up in Northland, looked for headphones walked out popped next door to Noel Leeming managed to get two Headphones ranged from 80-90 bucks for just Half Price with a card the two costs for the headphones at DSE,

Botany store is exactly the same. HDMI cables in single or multi packs, various lengths etc. Mind boggling.

I've been considering a new TV - 50" or so, preferably Samsung.

I see the UA50J5500 (50" Samsung smart tv) is $1359 at DSE, 1288 at JB Hifi, and $1097 at Harvey Norman.

DSE are in no way motivated to move this type of stock yet, it seems.

Lol I remember the System 80, we had that also. Wow big flashbacks going on hearing that model name.

DSE core product seemed to be hdmi cables and own brand rubber device cases, for phones no one has anymore. That'll never last.
