Samsung may have taken any remaining stock back for a full credit or a credit with a restocking fee.

Rumors were that Samsung had DSE on credit hold for months, if that's true any stock they had would have already been paid for in full.

I doubt it. Some stores had stock a few weeks ago.

The travel adapters  for plugging in your gadgets in the USA, Europe, Asia etc,  are the *only* things in the DSE Riccarton store that I have noticed that are selling out quickly.

Why would you post the same link when I posted it about an hour ago?

Damnit! I was half way through entering something here and lost it. Let's try again...

It will be interesting to see what happens to an online-only DSE under Ruslan Kogan. He would effectively be competing against his own current website, but itf the prices there are anything to go by it could be good news. Some examples:

Those prices are not apples vs apples. There is no GST on the Kogan stuff.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Kogan.com is Aussie $ prices and our GST is higher here in NZ than Aus.

NZ$650 = Au$577, so in AU$ PBTech is already cheaper and its working with higher GST rates.

Kogan charge AU$28 for shipping bringing it up to AU$589 = NZ$663 then there will be GST on top -> NZ$762

I am more concerned with them "buying" DSE customer database, I am sure they will promise to keep it separate and then 6 months later have a quiet change of Terms and Conditions and share that database with the parent company.

Oh thank goodness.  I was really worried about the continued supply of overpriced HDMI cables.

Just added dse.co.nz and dse.com.au to my spam filters.

No interest in spammers, and people who buy email lists are spammers.

The could start their database from scratch by getting people to sign up again.

Do you guys think we will still see bigger discounts in store? Or will they now be saying something like "What we dont sell, we can move to our Warehouse to list online"

Kogan has only bought the rights to the IP and name etc, not the stock.

Dick Smith Online (or whatever it ends up being called) will have no business relation to the original brick and mortar stores
