msukiwi: Bought the latest Kindle last week from them. Hoped I would get CourierPost again. NOPE! You guessed it......bl**dy Aramexl
Not sure how it's handled in Chch but in Orkland PB Tech shipping is usually free so it could be a case of beggars-can't-be-choosers.

Local delivery charged @ $6.82+GST. Delivered after 1pm today by a guy in a black hatchback!
Wellington here. I've shifted to click and collect from PB Tech solely to avoid further repeats of previous Aramex omnishambles. +1 million for the option of choosing my own courier. I will happily pay extra to pick the courier option that I know will actually transport a package from origin to destination in a fixed period of time. Which sounds like some kind of out there utopian vision...
Here's an interesting one.
Sent a parcel to my Dad using Courier Post from Auckland to Wellington last Friday, paying extra for Saturday delivery as the long weekend (there) was coming up.
It went out to their sorting centre in Wiri and...sat there for 7 days, going nowhere. Eventually my Dad is e-mailing me asking where the hell is my parcel, so I contacted NZ Post who were apologetic but couldn't tell me anything.
The following Friday (yesterday) their tracking system shows it being scanned in Christchurch, somewhere he's never lived. This morning it's showing Grenada Village, so - all going to plan - he should get it today.
This is absolutely shocking service. The woman on the phone at NZ Post told me that apparently there are two sort of "sorting" bags for mail - one for couriers, one for everything else. She thinks maybe his got dropped in the "everything else" one instead of the courier one (where it should have gone).
It makes me question why I paid extra for Saturday delivery - it was meant to be the next day, not a Saturday of their choosing 😠
I would definitely be asking for a refund of the Saturday delivery charge.
Oh I'm expecting a refund of the whole amount I paid. I could have driven it down to him and back by now if I had known this was going to happen. 8 days to get from Auckland to Wellington is absolutely ridiculous.
Next time I think I'll use NZ Couriers or Post Haste or something.
Completely fair. I'm still half asleep and hadn't twigged that it had been so long (even though you said as much!)
We had been getting good service from all couriers but yesterday had to retrieve a small package from the local Post shop. Reason given "Nowhere obvious to leave it." The driver did leave a card in the letterbox.
Not courier post as such but NZ Post.
i’ve sent a few packages this year from Wellington and all have sat and been ‘processing’ at Wiri for anywhere from 7-10 days.
Has anyone else experienced this? It’s strange because they claim there’s no ‘delivery delays’ and delivery is 3-5 working days. Yet it sits in Wiri for longer than the 3-5 working days…

Well, the item has been delivered, and NZ Post have just sent me (what I felt was) a rather generic e-mail saying something like "our inquiries show the item has now been delivered [no! really? 🙄], please let us know if you need anything else." - which gives me the impression they think they've basically done their job and can just wash their hands of doing anything further.
I've replied requesting a full refund.

I'd be interested in your success with that @quickymart
I recently had a similar experience, that I escalated to Executive Complaints (supposedly the CEO and his exec team), and required a refund to try to drive home to them how they had failed to perform, and was told NZ Post do not provide refunds, period full stop. Instead they insisted on giving me a courier bag for future use.
What a load of crap. I wonder if it would be worth going to the Small Claims Court or Disputes Tribunal or something. Maybe they will listen then.
It's not a huge amount of money, admittedly (around $15) but more the principle of the thing.
Otherwise if they won't come to the party I'll vote with my feet and use anyone else next time.

If you go through this thread you'll see plenty of complaints about both of these companies too. Don't think any of the companies are bullet proof -- they all have their hit and misses.
I have been told by someone who should know that the new wiri place is fully built around pre-sorted cubes from large suppliers and international deliveries and anything else has to go thru one of a few sorting machines which are backing up. It was built to deal with the massive quantities of overseas stuff dumped on them from overseas carriers who have now given up on them and built their own distribution networks (fast horse and iMile and a couple of others that operate like uber eats where its an app you work for) as it was still not working well enough.
Places that send stuff without pre-lodged details and printed stickers are the ones that suffer the most, like the retail bags you write on or companies that still use prepaid bags and ticketing.
