That's what you get for letting a robot do your thinking for you.

I always laugh when people suggest that robots will eventually take our jobs. If Siri is anything to go by, I'd say robots have a very long way to go before they're smart enough to replace me. And I'm not even that smart.

Please stop - it's annoying me. This annoyance from Google maps, combined with a few other reasons relating to Google's "culture" (or lack of it) has me thinking that my next phone will be an iPhone, and I don't want to hear one bad word said about Siri to put me off my plans.

Lord, if you are switching from Android to Apple for Cultural reasons, you definitely don't want to start googling apple and culture or Apple and ethics :)

Ultimately you are choosing between two greedy Corporates who care nothing about you other than if you can afford their next device.

Not really. One cares whether you can buy their devices, the other cares how much of your data it can sell.

Only 4% of users installing iOS 14.5 are "opting in" to allow tracking.  I'd wager less than 4% of Android users can be bothered taking measures to block tracking / targeted ads - and that's probably just on their web browser(s).

Anything to stick it up Facebook is good news.  Bravo.

Hopefully just one of many patents that are never commercialised.

If Ford gives me a free car in exchange for ad's, fine, but if I *pay* for the car, then I better not get ad's unless Ford want to meet me in court!

Not sure what they need the camera for since they have GPS and an internet connection in almost all new cars in the US so they can just charge the billboard owners and use the location of the board to trigger the ad rather than rely on a camera.

Whatever happened to driver distraction = bad/illegal? Drivers aren't supposed to watch videos while driving. This isn't that much different.

You forgot the "Surprising exactly no-one, ..." at the start of that.

The fact that Countdown seem to have replaced their standard Cadbury's drinking chocolate, which is nice to have occasionally on a cold night, with a wide range of disgusting vaguely chocolate-flavoured undrinkable bile that I'd think twice about using as rat bait. Seriously, this stuff is so bad that I spat out the first mouthful I tried.

Replaced? Yuck. Maybe just out of stock? Still lists the a Cadbury product, by the looks https://shop.countdown.co.nz/shop/productdetails?stockcode=151898&name=cadbury-drinking-chocolate

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

I'm hoping it's just out of stock but there's no gap on the shelves where it would be, and their online site often lists stuff that's long since discontinued, or in some cases seems to never have existed.

We haven't had many issues with online listings. Hopefully it's a temporary out-of-stock with your local.
