I ordered my kindle and cover 14th and it is now with local carrier for final delivery.  That is quick. Should have it tomorrow i guess.  So overall dont mind paying the $18 shipping now.-

Wow - amazing, the Cisco SG-300-10P switch I ordered on Thursday 13th Feb at 1:30pm, was delivered at 10am on Monday 17th Feb (to Greymouth). Free shipping, delivery by DHL.
(The estimated delivery was between Feb 27th - March 6th, so don't hold your breath that this will be usual occurrence!)
Now just hoping I get the import fees deposit refunded because the order was $388 NZD

That's interesting... it might be shipped from a west coast warehouse and they may have a bundle coming this way.

One of packages from my last order is still not delivered, it arrived in NZ on 9 Feb according to tracking, and my other packages saw a 10 day delay once they arrived in NZ. with 3 more days it'd be a whole month.

Hmm I was testing adding some stuff for a multi-item order last night and it came up as requiring postage to be paid, where a week ago it didn't - maybe the deal has finished?

Everything needs to be Amazon Global eligible, AND sold by Amazon.

And not be too heavy too. Seems to make many things not be free.

It was - and here's the thing- I just rechecked the cart again (which I had left last night with same items in it, with no free shipping) and today it IS showing free shipping! Oh well - yay?!

Mine is meant to be delivered today, ordered on the 1st Feb, hasn't even reached NZ yet. Even thou it left the states a week ago.  I'm guessing the tracking is not working or it's on a ship.

Hmm, I placed my order on 26 January, and received an estimated delivery of 13 February. From the tracking it left the US on 7 February from iParcel after they received it on 29 January, and is now in NZ as on 12 February, but seems pending customs clearance and an inbound scan.

Not too sure when it will turn up! *sigh*

Mine was due to arrive on Feb 11th, entered NZ on Feb 9th. Messaged Amazon support on Sunday and they told me it was lost and gave me a refund.

for those getting free shipping:

so it sits at a US warehouse for a full week and then they fly it to NZ?

It certainly seems that way. I think I read some people speculating as to whether they hold orders until they have enough for a consignment, and so it is just luck if yours gets received as a shipment is being completed. Otherwise I've read others speculating it was a deliberate delay to get people to pay for shipping next time.

Either way, my shipment seems to have stayed at the i-Parcel for over ten days (I looked back and they'd received it on the 27th), before shipping on the 7th. Last update for me is that it's at NZ Customs since the 12th though I'm beginning to wonder given Xeon's experience above.

I seem to have had pretty good luck, my iParcel package was delivered today (the last status update was 'Arrived in New Zealand' yesterday at 5am), not scheduled until 25th
