CrashAndBurn:

What surprised me was that I just found out that the tracking number provided by Ali Express can actually be tracked in NZ Post. At a guess, this started when GST was applied.

It depends on the shipping method used by the seller. In some cases packages can be tracked by NZ Post from the outset, in other cases when it's handed to them. The AliExpress Standard tracking numbers work with NZ Post if they're delivering them.

The l o  n   g   delays now with even using AliExpress Standard Shipping have stopped my even thinking about looking there for anything else!

Still waiting multiple weeks for the last order with no update since the plane finally left! Geez it must have big fuel tanks and food reserves for the pilots!

I'm ok with waiting but the broken tracking and constant lies with tracking numbers from the cheap sellers puts me off going for them. Aliexpress really need to tighten down on that. The good sellers have a picture of the box with the address and tracking number sent out when its shipped. They also seem to actually send things and not just give a tracking number for something else going to NZ.

I had an AliExpress order ship this week which wasn't sent via the chosen shipping method, so now almost certainly won't arrive before I need it, and another seller extended buyer protection on an overdue order without my permission. Both these things really need to be tightened up. They also need to take into account communication with sellers and punish those who lie.

I've also got a package coming from Lithuania. It'll be interesting to see how long that takes.

I hope they're not still trying the refund the difference scam, because that doesnt work anymore since they tightened up on that one.

I also had few orders from different sellers this week wasn't sent via the chosen shipping method as well.

Seem like the sellers just don't care which shipping method now because they knew everything will be slow & delayed.

I've got an 'Airline handling processing' message at Auckland, New Zealand for my item.

Huh, can definitely see how long it takes to pass through custom and NZPost inbound sorting.

One thing ordered 25th last month, in the PO Box for collection today.

2 more that came Yanwin are tracking as should be there tomorrow.

And a whole lot of others that have not moved at all. So massive variability in the times.

Ordered a pair of no tie shoelaces and got better shipping for an extra couple of cents. Arrived in just under 2 weeks.

Got 2 out of 3 orders on Saturday.

First is via China Post ePacket, delivered on the 24th day after shipment

Speed was fair but tracking was really good, telling me not only 'handed over to airline' but also 'flight departure' (which was 8 days apart)

Second is via the infamous 4PX Singapore Post OM Pro, delivered on 58th day after shipment

I was losing hope on this order but glad to have received finally.  Not tracking for this shipment, the last message is 'handed over to airline' in China.

Both items arrived on the same delivery, probably it is really NZPost or Custom stacking up items for the same recipients.

Still waiting is an order with AliExpress Standard Shipping via Singapore Post.

It has been 48 days and still counting.  The last message was 'dispatched' from Singapore on 1 August and still no updates from NZPost.

I've got one item, departed country of origin on 14/8. Last anyone's heard of it.

Not panicking yet, I expect it'll show eventually. Just no idea where it might be.
