I did not see those brands. It may turn up in future. It is not a department store approach. Selection and range is not the thing. It has Calvin Klein underwear and some bargain CK jackets for example.

Newshub finds a few lower priced items at Paknsave Westgate in local competitive response to Westgate CostCo. Paknsaves in other locations no change.

Costco has 3 Countdowns, a New World and a Pak n’ Save with 5km.

As far as I know Countdown and NW prices are set regionally, if not nationally. Whereas PnS seems to be able to set prices locally (dependant on the ‘wealth’ of the catchment area). The PnS on Lincoln Rd, Henderson (10km away) regularly had prices lower than the Westgate prior to Costco’s arrival.

Costco fuel has certainly had an affect on petrol prices locally. We believe we have already recouped our membership fee.

I believe Countdown can set prices locally where they choose. It's more that they avoid competing with other countdowns imo.

Costco fuel was quickly matched by PnS westgate. Henderson uses Z for fuel don't know about that price. Both require only $1 spend now to get the barcode.

It's not helped, if you're searching, by tyres also being referred to as 'tires' in this thread!

Easiest is to view the thread as a single page (green button near the top of each page, as below screenshot) then search for 'tyre' and 'tire' - a few more relevant posts found that way...

For Tyres, you can call them for pricing your specific size/tyre.

I don't think they'll ask for a membership number to give you a price.

Ecopia 205/16 $199 including fitting and balancing. Alternatively 4x for $50 off the total. They recommended Michelin same size st $165. Both good prices at this time. There is no alignment service. Batteries are available I assume they fit batteries. Service people were very helpful.

They've sure managed to bugger up the traffic in Massey North a bunch, although that's made much, much worse by the closure of Fred Taylor Drive. Borderline insanity but hey.

Kind of keen to know if they had walbox chargers for purchase or EV cables there. I see the American website has chargers, haven't made it out to the store yet and I've got Spanish Laughing Flu so I won't be going any time soon.

Didn’t see any EV wall boxes or cables.

Twice in two visits we have had incidents on the ‘up’ travellator.

First time the wheel grab decided to let go. Luckily I was able to arrest its downward progress and get it back into a slot.

Second time (today), the family in front of us dropped an item onto the travellator just as they reached the top. So instead of just kicking it off the belt they stopped and bent down to collect it as their trolley reached the top. So their trolley stopped, went sideways at the top and our trolley rammed into the back of them, dislodged and started pushing us backwards. Nothing we could do but wait for the trolley behind to ram into us. Luckily there was enough of a gap behind us that that didn’t happen. And no, we weren’t right behind the preceding customers.
Next time we will use the lift.

Edit: Collect a trolley from the car park and take it down with you. The staff aren’t putting them in the foyer anymore.

I walked every aisle with interest on my first visit. I covered everything. No EV cables at this time. I would have noticed.
