I haven't seen rubbish on the streets per se. The supermarket carpark, on the other hand...

Seeing D-ABVR (Boeing 747) from Lufthansa fly overhead this morning. (Never seen it before, and any 747 is a rare site in Christchurch)

Once again Lufthansa did a "Thank You" fly over the City at relatively low altitude on their way home.

Nice to see in these "unusual times".

Must be one of the last governmental charter flights to bring Germans and other Europeans back home from NZ.

Preparing the balcony garden (we have springtime) with herbs and spices, raising tomatoes and chilis in the greenhouse to bring them out in May, re-painted wooden chairs and table and re-arranged the UHF/SHF antenna and weather station mast in 12m for enhanced LoRaWAN transmission range. It seems I'll spend the summer more or less in the vicinity of the workshop and the smoker :-)

Hitting >1TB in a month for the first time, and that the home network has worked flawlessly. Looks like that 15 years I spent teaching myself networking has paid off :-)

And that's why the Scots ultimatively want to stay in the EU ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYjzDX1Biwo

The secret national anthem was composed in 1982 by the two Germans Michael Korb and Uli Roever and has played into people's hearts ever since worldwide ... to NZ on ANZAC day as well.

Went to the supermarket on Tuesday and bought some fresh milk - had run out and was using UHT milk from a carton.
Made my SO a flat white, received compliments about how much better it was made with fresh milk than UHT.  I still haven't told her that she was drinking the last of the UHT carton and clearly couldn't tell the difference.

I find the pams aussie made UHT lightyears ahead of the anchor stuff for taste.

Another little interesting fact: It was the official anthem of the Royal Hong Kong police and was the final piece of music played as the British Governor of Hong Kong exited his role on the last day of British rule Hong Kong was passed back to China.
