LOL yeah, best to be a draw, otherwise it wont stop. Needless to say my opinion is found very much elsewhere here. All we ask is be respectful rather than disrespectful.

No one who disagrees with me is an idiot, and vice versa.

Stupid trademe area filtering.

I live in Mt Maunganui, which is part of tauranga city.

So, I want to filter items that are in tauranga city area..

There is no option to do this.   I can either chooses bay of plenty.... which includes whakatane, rotorua which are around an hours drive away so I don't want that.

Or, I can choose subareas, but this treats mt Maunganui and Tauranga as 2 different places, ie, it treats mt maunganui as being just as far from tauranga as it is from rotorua.

When tradies say they'll turn up at x-o'clock, then don't, and don't even bother to call.

I reckon only 10% turn up on time, maybe 30% don't even turn up but usually they will call.

The power is with the tradies though, just thankful if you can get a plumber these days, even if they charge like wounded bulls.

My plumber was due here today at 11am. According to his office he's been "on his way" for 2 hours now. Still, I've already been waiting 2 weeks so whats a few more hours.

Also no ability to filter by land area.

We have 3 dogs and so require property with adequate space for them. TM does not allow you to search that criterion.

When we lived in Wellington our dishwasher needed repair.

I rang the company and spoke to them, arranged the visit for 1300 and said I would have to take time off work to be there, so please confirm that will be the time etc. Yes yes no problem.

I get there at 1230. By 1330, no guy so I ring.

"Oh sorry, I had a cancellation so I came at 0900."

"Can you come now?"

"No, sorry - I'm going fishing."

Needless to say, that company never got any more work from us, but that never seems to concern them.

just rang a plumber in Rotorua as my 30 year old outside tape wouldnt turn off, he was here within 30 minutes, replaced it with a nice brass one and said he will drop the bill in my letterbox, said it would be around $50. Still amazed lol.

As amazing as that is not to be charged a typical $100 minimum callout fee plus parts, you can buy a brand new brass garden tap for $7.77 at Bunnings and fit it yourself in about 5 minutes.

I wouldn't trust a $7.00 hose tap, I would be surprised if it is genuine brass and I would be surprised if one day the top half assembly flew out of the tap.

You're being very pessimistic IMO.  It will be brass, made in China, I've replaced a few old NZ made hand-crafted outdoor taps over the years, never had a problem with the replacements.

A plumber might go to a plumbing supplies store and buy what looks much the same for even less.

A while back I purchased a set of "brass" hose fittings from Bunnings that  err  rusted.

Take a magnet with you to the store.

Those taps seem to be fine - I've replaced a few,  no problems.  They are brass.

Same for me. Got some air fittings to swap the stupid Chinese ones on all the tools they sell now and the socket on the hose all rusted up where it got left outside.
