This PSU failure thread that keeps coming back on my phone. Removing it involves holding your finger on it then selecting remove but I suspect that Safari registers that as another visit because holding your finger on it also raises a preview

That's intentional. Mauricio knows people in high places at Google 😅

I admire your determination to give money to NL but its verging on harassment now. 😆
I have elected to be offended, decided NL are 'problematic' and cancelled them.

Three weeks later, there are still annoying little midge things flitting around the office. They appeared about a month ago and I'd forgotten all about them until today.
Customers that chuck you under the bus while CCing in many, many key people and missing some really salient points in the narrative - so they look like a victim.
A colleague and I are having to do some cleanup of collateral damage caused by such a customer...quite annoying when to state all of the facts actually verges on making you look petty, so it's hard to defend yourself (or in this case the process), so you just fall on your collective swords and say "OK - we'll make it right".

That can also backfire really, really badly on them. Many years ago we were dealing with a developer at a client site whom we were, as far as we could tell, teaching how to use a C compiler via tech support. He kept CC'ing in more and more levels of management at his company until eventually I composed a longish (polite) reply addressed at him but really intended for reading by all the people he'd CC'd in which pointed out, in the summary of the things that we'd been helping him with and my polite request about what else he'd like help with, that this "senior developer" didn't seem to know much about software development.
I don't think he works for them any more.
The Interislander booking system. It wouldn't let me view my bookings without first renewing my loyalty membership, which isn't due to be renewed for two months.
Then I attempted to change one of my bookings and I wasted my time going through the whole process, then it crapped itself right at the end before the change could be confirmed. Tried again and got the same result, and can't call them because their call centre closes at 5pm.
Useless.

This reminds me of when I was unable to complete a task on time because I hadn't been given the source material despite repeatedly chasing it up. The intended recipient complained to my manager about me, but it turned out that the person who failed to give me the source material was one of her own staff!

And when you call them you'll get a recording telling you that they're experiencing greater-than-normal call volumes...
Aramex.
I have a purchase that is being freighted from Tauranga to Auckland.
Picked up in TGA on 2/9
As at 10/9 - In Transit, with a nice little ! next to it. Click on the ! symbol and its states there's a delay (understandable in COVID Level 4, you'd think) stating that if the status hasn't changed in 24hrs to fill out the form in a hyperlink.
I filled out that form 24hrs and 48hrs after the symbol appeared without changing...no response. No change. Nothing.
Call the number and get a recorded message stating the usual "higher than usual volumes" nonsense.
FYI - this item was marked as "essential" on the website, so was able to be shipped in Level 4 and I also didn't know it was coming from outside of Auckland. If I'd known that I would have expected a long delay and would have shopped elsewhere.
Also - online pharmacy - no click and collect facility. Ordered medical supplies (over the counter, but still pharmacy-only) and a week later still haven't got them. Online query got us a nice response stating that their deliveries are being delayed by up to a week due to pressure on the NZ Post system. They are less than a KM away from home - I thought it would be a quick turnaround (they have no warning on their website of the potential delays to shipping).

Ugh, had the same problem, ordered something from an online pharmacy that I'd chosen because it was about five minutes away from here and it took over a week to get here, of which most of the time was waiting for them to process the order, not shipping time.

As above:
Online pharmacy in my city:
29 August - ordered online
30 August - payment confirmed by email
5 September - email: "Your order has been shipped"
10 September - still no delivery - Track My Order still shows "Processing Order" ...
"This does not compute" 😠
Sideface
Level 2. Have to wear masks when shopping. Went to gas station today (ChCh), a guy had no mask, no problem. Forgot my phone, no sign in pad.
