Still waiting on a package that is more than a week overdue, sent via NZ Post (Courier).

I'm not dealing with this myself, but from what I've been told they claimed the item was marked with the wrong address, a very generic address "1 Great South Rd" in the same suburb - about 400m away. They also claimed it was a business address and the business was closed, which isn't true as that is a residential address. They subsequently confirmed it is labelled correctly, but it's been filed somewhere, presumably to redeliver once we're out of level 4 and businesses open up again.

CrazyDomains.co.nz! My domain was hosted through OpenHost (originally Webbase) and it has now become CrazyDomains, with the transfer happening a week ago.

I now have a renewal notice. The website is a nightmare trying to see what I need to do, like GoDaddy was last time I checked them out. There are all these extras to make my site "secure". It shows I have a free DNS service that expires in a year, with auth-renew off. It was all humming along nicely and only required intervention when I wanted to change something.

All I want is a host with about 1-2GB for my seldom updated blog other stuff, and catch-all email redirection (to my gmail as their spam management was an improvement on what I had). No animated advertising when I log into my account.

Feel free to DM suggestions of other hosts. I'm currently paying ~$10/month.

I ended up calling Aramex and being on hold for around 45min, but finally got through to a human, who advised that the package had special delivery instructions and a business address: to which i advsed this was false on both counts. She then said, "Oh yes, you're right" and promptly put it in the queue for delivery "some time this week, possibly in 2 days but no more than 5".

I still don't know why businesses continue to use Aramex - they are by far the worst of the courier companies. They must be REALLY cheap.

Inconsistently applied Covid rules.

3 shops in Masterton, no restrictions on numbers.

Spark shop. Making everyone queue in the rain and letting only 3 people in.

Re aramex, I believe they’re cheaper for the multi-sector distances especially over a certain size/weight. We often use them along side the others depending on the timing of the pickup and expected delivery time etc.

So I assume you'd use them for anything that you're not that bothered about timing for?

Every time I have had to deal with Aramex, they've been awful - delays, lost items, mis-deliveries etc. And they seem to hire the surliest of drivers...which would lead me to believe they're not great to work for.

That it costs more to buy a game digitally than via a bricks and mortar retailer who has to ship me a physical disk. How!? Why!?

It's almost as bad as it costing $0 in fees to park using coins which they need to come and physically collect, but .50c for a credit card fee!

This reminds me of one i might have already posted - If I buy movie tickets online, I get slugged with a $1-3 booking fee, but if I book in person at the box office there is no fee - despite the fact they have to pay someone a wage to sit in the chair and take my money.

This seems to me to be a terrible business model - why would you discourage customers away from channels that have a lower cost to serve. I can only think that some bean counter insisted on the booking fee as part of a business case to recover the costs to building the online system.

Games that require an internet connection in order to play off-line.

Just about everything that I've brought, paid for, and have downloaded wants to "phone home" before it will let me play - even if operating in so-called "offline" mode.

Incredibly frustrating when you don't have an internet connection but want to play.

because by you going up to the counter there is a % chance you will buy something else while you are there, Popcorn, Drink etc. especially if you have kids.

That's probably a fair point. I can't think of a similar one to my gripe though.

Bureaucracy. People being unwilling to be a little bit flexible in order to significantly help someone despite it costing them nothing other than 10 minutes of their time based on 'policy'.

In these sorts of times, anything you can do to help someone should be considered if it's even remotely reasonable.
