Well shucks, I guess my dumbest headlines thread will be half out of business from now on since the herald won't be producing any more dumb ones. Right? Right?

You'll have to pay to be sure of that!

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Can I assume that the photo shows neither Highlanders nor Chiefs?

Some of us nerds/geeks are entirely uninterested in sport, and I wouldn't know a SuperRuby player/uniform if I tripped over one (Hurricanes excepted - due to local advertising I know what they wear)

Highlanders vs Crusaders shown.

You could accuse the news organisation junior that posted the the photo of having the same level of rugby knowledge as you!

Purple washing machine 'negligee' creates havoc on Twitter

5 min ago  A see-through purple 'negligee' dust cover for a washing machine has Twitter all aflutter.

Another reminder why I love online news and social engineering... I mean networking.

The problem is not the social networking sites. People know they will find stupid stuff - and to be honest the comments were all made in jest so that's not idiotic.

But the article on Stuff is a full on demonstration of what should not be news and how not to report it. Shame on the editor who allowed that to go ahead.

Florida, New Zealand, what difference does it make?

Even assuming that's degrees F, it's almost 48 degrees C!

Highlanders vs Crusaders shown.

Doh! And here was me chortling because I thought the humour was in the photo apparently depicting an extreme Hopoate-style tackle being executed.

If it was a Hopoate style tackle, this one looks much more serious!

I thought it was a joke about "fisting", judging by the player's surprised look.
