Mark:

Latest pet peeve .. seeing car adverts where they say the hybrid car does 1.2l/100km fuel consumption ... so with a 43l tank the car does 3500km on a tank of fuel ? :-)

Some use Lₑ/100km which I think means consumption while there's still some plug in juice in the battery then it would probably drop to the ~4.5l/100km of a hybrid. Your 43l tank would give you closer to 1000km.

Using Center Across Selection instead of Merge & Center in Excel is great until you find it doesn’t display correctly when copy-pasting into Outlook.

Merge cells should be removed from existence. The most horrid thing ever introduced to spreadsheets.

The weather's Bouncing Betty act. Summer one day, winter the next. It gets tiresome.

Has anyone else been struck by the Winton commercials? They look awfully American to me, and awfully white. What is the cute red-head really trying to tell us as he skateboards home with fantasies of perfect upper middle-class life playing in his head?

What does the Excel database have to do with spreadsheets?

Semi-rhetorical question: Have you ever seen anyone use Excel as a spreadsheet?

Powercut since 1817 tonight. No power = no pump = no water.

I need to sort out a backup for that.

neb: The fact that New World prevents you from taking your own shopping bag into the supermarket because apparently it's more hygienic to use a supermarket trolley that a hundred other people before you have also handled than to use a shopping bag that only you will be touching.

I get the feeling some of these places are just making policy up as they go along...

They tried to stop me taking mine in. The conversation went like this:

NW "We prefer that you leave your bags here. "

Me "Do you? Well, I prefer to take them with me. "

I just walked in and carried on.

I won't shop there any more because their Covid policies make it feel like level 4 all the time and because they still won't pack meat in sealed trays. They just wrap a bit of cling film round it so it leaks.

Our local one is expensive and the selection of food dull and uninteresting, even by provincial NZ supermarket standards.

My local one was like that last year, but seems to be better this year.

kiwiharry: When you order something from a web site and pages indicate shipping approx 5 days. Get the order confirmation email after placing order and it states due to high demand, orders expected to ship in 15 business days.

Why can't they also update their website to reflect this?

Original annoyance somewhat nullified now as I just got notification item has been shipped, so was only 3 days after ordering.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

With bluetooth speakers sneaking into the places I enjoy (golf, mountainbiking) I'll say that everyone else's taste in music is terrible.

I've no doubt that includes mine! So Snoop can come.

I think banning Bluetooth speakers is the appropriate response, not letting rap 'artists' earn money!!

Escalating a ticket with Vodafone from P3 to P2 means they have to raise a new one.

Queue frustrations from all sides when all the notes from the first doesn’t make it to the new.

Add in how the time of the day dictates the priority level as a P1 can’t be raised at 4pm if the location closes at 5PM.
