I'm annoyed (mainly out of spite) that Auckland  - which is where I live - is heading towards 3 months in lockdown, which started from one single Delta case and Christchurch, which has two confirmed cases and no contact tracing ability, due to the infected not following the protocols, NOT being locked down.

It's not so much that I want ChCh to suffer, but I'd really appreciate Auckland coming out of lockdown and getting my life back.

How is it possibly OK to have different rules for different parts of the country????

Level 4 in Auckland was a knee jerk reaction believing they could contain it, and they only dropped to level 3 because of political pressure. Now they know they can't contain it and still have a functioning economy.

I'm in Christchurch, and we were all expecting level 3. No-one down here will be surprised if we are moved to level 3 in the coming days depending on the number of new cases. The 2 positive cases have almost certainly spread it to others, so a full outbreak here (with level 3 restrictions) is probably inevitable in Christchurch before long.

That you can only have one Office 365 tenant enabled for password-less login with Microsoft Authenticator (Work/School accounts).

Behodar:

Email from company: Your order has shipped!

What it actually means: We put a courier label on the box.

It didn't actually ship until three days later.

I had fun with a courier today.

Rang their 0800, followed the prompts, entered the tracking number followed by the hash key which tells me the status that I already knew and then I'm instantly hung up on.

I call back and press # four times which sends me into a queue.

Eventually a human answers and I ask why my parcel is showing as simply having a ticket assigned when the driver picked it up two days prior.  I get fed a whole lot of BS which I challenge her on for every point and highlight the BS she's clearly feeding me.

She starts down a route of it being normal for internet shopping for which I point out that no I didn't buy it online, it's my parcel that I shipped out.  She gives me more BS when I point out our many other parcels that were collected at the same time are all showing as scanned/collected/shipping/delivered etc. but this one item is still showing as 'printed'.  I asked if she was familiar with the system of theirs that we use for the service.  Despite claiming to know so she still spouts her BS which is in conflict with how their system works.  I ask if there's someone else that can help and puts me on hold to speak with a supervisor, comes back telling me the supervisor is saying the same as what she's already told me.  I'm guessing she didn't even speak with anyone.  Gave her my name n number for call back but I know where that went.  I mean seriously, try to blame covid for it as if the parcels get covid.  She tells me it's delayed because only so many people are allowed at their depot which again is BS - our courier driver isn't sitting on his ass all day with a van load of two day old parcels due to being locked out of his workplace.

The best part was the screaming child in the background that clearly needed some lunch.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

The paradox of choice. I pretty much want the same pair of jeans. I go to ASOS, put my size in, and some 200 hundred choices come up. Close browser tab.

I need to replace my phone.  I've had numerous Samsungs, Nokias (N95, N900, N8 and 1020!) and the last few have been LG (G3, G4 and G7), I start looking for a replacement and just lose interest in trying to choose.

Getting really weird connectivity problems on one of the APs after a firmware upgrade. Since it was a firmware upgrade, OK, something glitched on the restart so try a soft reboot and then when that didn't fix it a power cycle/hard reboot. Still didn't fix it, but there's nothing obviously wrong. After lots more mucking around I realise that the upgrade disabled the 2.4GHz radio and so I'm on 5GHz WiFi, which is flaky due to the relative position of the AP and myself. Since I wasn't expecting something like that I spent ages trying to track down a (non-2.4GHz-disabled) problem where there wasn't one.

neb: Ordering something from a Bunnings one removed from the local one because the local one doesn't have it in stock. So they relocate the order to the local Bunnings, sit on it for a few days, and then tell me they're cancelling it because.... they don't have it in stock.

And now a variant on this, due to (presumably) the long delays between placing the order and having it fulfilled, an item can go out of stock between the order time and the fulfillment time. I've now had an in-stock item I ordered redirected down to a Bunnings in Wellinchurch because it's not in stock any more.

Had the same problem on Saturday. I placed an order for a number of items with Bunnings, to collect from Takanini. I placed the order on Monday last week. On Saturday they phoned to say there were three items not in stock. Their system won't let you order anything not in stock at the branch you want to collect from, down to the detail of only letting you order the quantity actually available. It leads me to believe they're not processing orders in the order they come in, and perhaps leaving larger orders or orders with multiple items until small orders have been done. Either that or processing trade orders before processing retail orders. Have so far not been able to order anything from Bunnings for delivery, as the system always decides at the payment stage of the order that all items are actually out of stock (even though they were in stock and available for delivery up until this point).

Ordering a couple of Black and Decker cordless items online and finding that one of them states proudly on the box "Battery not included". No mention of it being "Skin only" on the website. Just glad I ordered two items, one of which came with battery and charger (from the same 18v family of products, so is compatible).

The weedeater (which DID come with battery) was actually pretty good, so I was less annoyed after using it.

Stevens [Farmers] online ordering system, ordered something and it said 3-4 days for dispatch, fine . So 5 days later ring them and you get a recorded message saying that online orders will be delivered in 15 days and then they wonder why you are annoyed.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Same with Life Pharmacy. Ordered and paid for something online (a gift for Mrs Code) on Friday before last Friday. Website says Metro deliveries 1-3 working days and that they will send a tracking number etc. Received an email confirmation of the order at the time - then nothing. Rang them this morning and they say they can't tell me when it will be dispatched. They were very quick to take my $200 but then hopeless.

I know 'because COVID' etc - but if their site said delivery 1-2 weeks, I wouldn't be annoyed. However because I feel they mislead me (or are simply slack with their site), I am annoyed.
