Call blocking my Internet provider (farmside) has a 0800 help desk nothing unusual in that. But they seem to accept calls from any phones except calls from their own webline (VOIP) customers. I have a 0800 number at work and know you can select whom you receive calls from i.e. block calls from mobiles (expensive) or calls from outside a geographic area and no doubt many other blocks as well. My question why do you think Farmside block calls to their help desk from their customer’s phones.
  1. Its unintentional they just don’t know how to fix it despite being told about it
  2. A rouge tech at the help desk wants to get his stats up to get a bonus
  3. It is company policy to slow down those annoying calls from customers make them pay for toll calls to the south Island. That will make them think twice about phoning when we are busy and hanging on the line for ages

Have you rung them from a different phone and actually asked them that?

They may have a fault that they are unaware of because you want us to read their minds rather than you communicating directly with them.

Maybe the number you're using is the wrong number for existing customers?
