I stay at a Hilton Hotel A while back, I made the mistake of Joining their Hilton Honors program. After receiving their emails for awhile and seeing no content that interested me I decided to unsubscribe to the emails using the link they provided. I got a confirmation....

UNSUBSCRIBE CONFIRMED
We are sorry to see you go! <myemailaddress> has been unsubscribed. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing your request. You will continue to receive transactional email messages, such as reservation confirmations.

Despite this I have continued to receive their emails and have gone through this process over 10 times and still receive their emails. A quick Google search shows this is a common problem with people worldwide saying it is impossible to unsubscribe from Hiltons emails.

I have set up a filter which sends these emails straight to the trash now. However I believe it is important to hold companies accountable and as such have reported Hilton to the Antispam devision of the Department of Internal Affairs while I doubt any action will be taken if enough people complain something might happen.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of behaviour from Hilton or any other company?

Hilton's unsubscribe system is munted. I eventually had to complain to them on twitter to get unsubscribed because nothing else worked.

It'll be interesting to see what DIA say - clearly the issue is their unsubscribe system broken.

If you do that these days, you'd wanna be quick, or mini-obama (John Key) might try to veto it ;-P

Thanks, I have sent a complaint through to the DIA and have also contacted Hilton via twitter and got a response within 20mins. Amazing they only want to help when you complain in public.

I cannot believe nobody has replied 'Apparently Hilton doesn't Honor Unsubscribe Emails'.
