Got a PM from someone trying to post a reply and getting a "Can't post due to bad words". He couldn't find the bad word, so I asked to show me the image...

Instead of uploading the image to Geekzone (or anywhere), he was doing a copy/paste of the image into the editor, which in some browsers will change it to a base64 image... I copied the base64 source and... here it is, in the middle of the image:

Side note, does this mean that GZ will actually detect words in the middle of other words when blocking?  I know that words like "assume" seem to pass, but what it there's a legitimate word with "that sequence of letters" in it?  (I think that apart from the the town in Austria there aren't any words with the "f" word in them, but what about that particular type of mushroom starting with "s"?)

Why don't you just type those words and see what happen?

Wow, embedding image in text editor is something new :)

P.S. Ukrainian bad words passed through

One SSD vendor used to think that 'bs' was a bad word which needed to be censored on their forums, even when used in conjunction with the Unix 'dd' command. I think they've changed the word filter on their forum now.

I used to post on a messageboard where the acronyms OMG and WTF were eventually banned.

And this week a different user trying to create a thread met the same "Bad Words in post": this time the word was "SHIT".

Seriously, with all the possible combinations in the universe, two different people in two weeks got to upload images with bad words in them. Imagine how many have normal words?

It almost seems to prove the Infinite Monkey Theorem.

PS. This is when doing a COPY/PASTE of an image directly into the editor when using Firefox. This browser will automatically convert the image to base64. This is not when uploading the image to our servers.
