I have had a look on the web for an alternative website to Trade Me.

There is http://nz.ebid.net

Apparently there is a site called Buddy Bid. I found http://www.buddybid.com/ but it seems to be dead.

There is also GraysOnline:  http://www.graysonline.co.nz/

I am planning on selling car parts online (actually only one 3D printed plastic dash part) and was wondering if anybody out there has any suggestions other than Trade Me.

None of these sites mentioned are New Zealand-bassed. I'd say any chances of success on those are very slim as they wouldn't be trusted by anyone in this country.

Trademe have a monopoly by way of being first to market. 


I don't think you have a choice if you want to sell.

there have been many but they dont get the traffic to survive.   Wheedle are latest to try.

Have you tried Wheedle yet, the only real local alternative at the moment (which is a kind of a dead place)?

They have run TV ads for ages as well as radio, paper and billboards. 

Old Wheedle discussion here and you will see why it didn't work ok. The original Wheedle discussion here. The site was originally launched in September 2012 with lots of problems, taken down after a week or so then relaunched. It never worked well.

Actually, since I stream most of my TV shows and movies, and hardly ever watch free to air TV, perhaps TV adds are not a good idea. I guess, increasingly, more and more people are moving away from having to watch TV adds.

Perhaps radio and newspaper adds might work better for Wheedle.
