This looks interesting:

https://plastc.com/

Load all your money cards onto one card, plus a lot of other cool features. has proximity alert, tied to your phone and remote wipe.

Thinking about getting one, what do people think?

$155. Don't see the value at this price. Haven't looked at it in detail. But surely card technology can't be copied so easily.

Pre-ordered one quite a while back and was meant to be shipping next month, got an email in Feb stating it will now be August/September and also won't be supporting EMV or NFC at launch which is extremely disappointing.

I intend to get one to load all my loyalty cards onto. If I can load any of my VISA or Debit cards onto it it'll be a bonus.

Won't pre-order right until the last day though, it's been pushed back a lot; this latest delay makes it a year now

Yawn. How many cards do people have these days that are mag stripe only? Even most loyalty cards aren't.

The only use for this product is the US market. EMV support will never reastically be available because banks aren't going to give their keys away.

So if it cant do EMV cards, then its prettymuch only going to be any good for your one card and flybuys then?

From my wallet: Flybuys, Onecard, New World, Subway, Pita Pit, Hoyts, Marble EFTPOS, Naked Baker Loyalty. RealClub (Reading Cinema), Wild Bean Cafe, EB Games Card, ASB Eftpos (non-VISA Debit cards are swipe only)

That's 14 cards I can drop, granted I don't carry all of them all the time (probably because that's 14 cards!! ) but it'll be nice to have the choice.

I don't have a single card that I'd use. I occasionally use Flybuys (terrible earn rate makes it pointless) but that's a barcode anyway rather than mag stripe as I only have my Airpoints card. With Subway I use the app.

Fair call

@everyone reading this thread, I would urge you not to preorder since the company seems to be on shaky ground right now. Read the following Reddit for an idea of some of it's issues (but take with a grain of salt, some people are obviously venting but still makes interesting reading)

Another card that won't work. Not the first one, not the last one.

I like flybuys but do not shop based on a store having flybuys -- i always go for cheapest first.

Even without deliberately buying from flybuy retailers I probably get a $200-$300 gift each year.

As for the barcode thing -- i just gave up on loyalty cards etc as just too much hassle for the miniscule you save.

I don't get why phone NFC tech cannot be used to provide a one stop solution for all of these cards.

2+ have already failed at doing the same things promised of them, can't see this one being any better.

Pass. I've just looked through all my cards and only three of them have magstripes. Of those three, the stripe isn't actually used on two of them.

About the only swipe-only card I have is my AA card which can give you some benefits/fuel discounts if used at certain retailers. Most of my loyalty cards have bar codes and I have entered all those into an app on my phone (StoCard) which takes care of pretty much everything, including my gym membership. There are a few readers around town that don't read the bar code off the phone but most do now (although sometimes you have to ask them to actively scan the phone by pressing the trigger on the scanner, not just holding the phone under it).

I have my credit cards and Snapper on my phone already through Semble.

Any card that doesn't use a stripe (they scan the bar code) I just photograph and put in an app on my phone.  The image is plenty clear for the scanners to read it.   Loyalty cards no longer needed.

It would be far easier if they used an app like Subway for loyalty cards/purchases.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
