Here is a Saudi cleric who maintains that women are too stupid to drive. This makes me wonder if there is a maximum IQ for Saudi clerics? Maybe they have to demonstrate an inability to walk and preach at the same time? Maybe they have to think Dumb and Dumber II is a funny film? Maybe they think women bleed from their eyes?

How many Saudi clerics does it take to pass an IQ test? All of them, but only if their wives tell them the answers.

Saudi Arabia is a very conservative country, A feudal state run by a small group of despots bonded by inbred family ties. Their current 'dispute' with Qatar demonstrates in glorious OLED colour and surround sound how backwards their governing elite are. Their human rights record is appalling - right off the chart - and the way they treat their own citizens is beyond belief. maybe it has something to do with Saudi Arabia being the 'home' of Mecca and their clergy seem to believe this gives them a direct line to all that is religious purity

I was talking to a lady (ex-irish catholic) now living in Saudi and I knew a Kiwi woman who converted to Islam, uprooted her family here and moved to Middle East and now she is living in Saudi (economy lecturer with PhD). They seemed not to be bothered with the driving thing as big as we made it out. Apparently the women over there is highly educated and you need good qualification to be able to compete among them - women education in Saudi.

On the other hand Muslim women elsewhere drives everywhere they want. Then you see the like of some Jewish sect in the west who banned their women from driving also - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/may/29/nicky-morgan-orthodox-jewish-women-driver-ban-belz-london
