Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, an icon of genre fiction perhaps best known to general audiences for his portrayal of renegade android Roy Batty in Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic Blade Runner, died on Friday.

My favourite memory of him is as the main character in Blind Fury...a blind martial artist with somewhat questionable acting skills.

He died quite young - is there any info on what he died of?

It's too bad she won't live. But then again, who does?

RIP Rutger. :(

"The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long, and you have burned so very, very brightly",

"All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die......" *releases white Dove*

Every time I revisit this movie it cuses me to reflect on the fragility of life.

R.I.P. Rutger. Thank you for one of the most poignant moments in sci fi film history.
