We are unable to ship non-digital items to New Zealand shipping addresses. Please choose a shipping address that is not in New Zealand to proceed. Some restrictions may still apply depending on the item.

You can also visit amazon.com to access millions of products for delivery to New Zealand.

There are plenty of items and sellers on Amazon that can't /won't ship to NZ,

its the reason Youshop stays in business

I'm getting the same error message from Amazon.co.jp; it seems to be blocking all items. Hopefully they fix this soon!

Edit: I take that back, its now looking like NZ's getting the GST flick from Amazon's stores around the globe

Anyone able to confirm if the OZ store has opened up to us, or have we been cut adrift .....

Lets see what happens after the 1st, since they probably dont want things in transit that have not had GST collected.

Will really annoy me if it doesnt come right, as I have things in my .jp wish list waiting on the cash availability to order.

Damn, that is a shame. I've got a bluray on preorder, interesting to see if that gets shipped.

I ordered a couple of items (amazon.com) that @freitasm gave a heads-up on a few days ago. After initially stating the items had shipped, they're now showing they're heading back to Amazon and a refund should appear in a few days. No email was received advising this had occurred, however, so will keep an eye on it.

What happens when you change your amazon address to the UK (ie drop ship something)?

You'll pay 20% VAT but other than that it should work.

Given that they've been collecting GST and import fees for ages, why would they stop now?

I'd expect to start seeing lots of changes because of the GST changes. Amazon aren't going to bother having to register each entity around the world to comply with NZ laws. Amazon have had the backend processes in place and have collected GST from their main US site for prob 9 years now, whereas (and somebody correct me if I'm wrong) the UK store never charged GST at checkout.
