We were supposed to go away this weekend, obviously not now.

To try and get a staycation we are banning work this weekend in our household, school work is all on hold. It's a weekend to have fun.

We are going to try our kids, 8 and 10 with their first game of Monopoly, we are going to eat some treats and try and relax as much as possible.

I also plan on doing some cooking (Brisket, Rotisserie Pichanha and a couple of interesting desserts we haven't finalised yet). I hope to spend some time with my nose in Cook Books and gaming.

What are the rest of you going to be doing to make Easter 'special' ?

Cheers

I'm going to say nothing at all. Wash the cars and mow the lawns, maybe some weeding. 😅 8 month old at home keeps us pretty busy now that she's flat out crawling around.

Fortunately our kids are older now, and in any case have enjoyed the concept of chocolate more than the reality of chocolate, so I got a few little things last night when I was at the supermarket but that's about it.

We were going to stay in a cottage on the West Coast.  Weather permitting, the plan was to do some do some day tramps, kayaking and fishing.

Cancelled the accommodation at the end of Feb when it was clear this situation was coming down the line.

New plan is a few local walks, Netflix and Chill.  Need a good break.

One thing that is hard, is being able to switch off once you are working from home. You are moments away from replying to that one email you didn't quite get to, or sending that last quote, or following up on that one client issue.

It will be the hardest part of trying to get a break is pretending my "office" is actually 100KM away. One way I like to help myself here is.. Would I do this work task, if I had to travel 1 Hour return trip to do it.

We are living in the garage as our house is about 6-8 weeks from renovation completion. Best we can do is go sit in a room with no light, power, water, internet, paint or floor coverings. The garage was OK while things were moving but I gotta say ... adding at least another month to and not being able to go anywhere is a bit annoying.

PlayStation and exercise. Planning on a half marathon distance this weekend (3km loop near home 7 times).

Apart from that. Catch up on all the binge worthy series that everyone keeps telling me I must watch.

Old people, no kids, not religious. It will just be another day like any other.

Nothing really for me, although kinda glad I got Easter eggs etc sorted for my boys before the lockdown happened.

Actually seriously considering working Fri and Mon as normal.  We've been given the option to "transfer" Easter to a more suitable time when we are out of lockdown.

I'm going to Martinborough for the weekend to enjoy some walks through the vineyards. Oh, wait....I can do that every day. 😇

I think we have a leg of lamb in the freezer, so traditional Easter lunch. Lots of chillout.
