Though it was time for another post / delay / when will it turn up thing.

Wondering if anyone has any experience for stuff being ordered from Aus during the present 'situation'. My one and only recent order was probably sent on 29th May form JB HiFi (couple of Blurays). Anyone know if its fairly standard nowadays to wait 5-6 weeks so far for them to turn up. Postage was about $19 btw and its said via Australia Post Mail. Not sure if would have been Economy or Standard, Post or Parcel. Haven't got very far reading Aus Post website.

Yeah, I've had some replacement Tiles sitting on the tarmac in Sydney for about a month+ now. And two t-shirts in New York, for that matter.

I know every country is different, but I had a bigger parcel sent from the US for $5 (say $8NZ) and that was slightly quicker that Aus Posts $19 has been so far. Oh well, patience is a virtue, according to some people anyway....

I ordered my RC parts from Melbourne 29th April, arrived about 3 weeks ago. Was just sitting at the AU airport.

Was sent standard post. Economy when I last looked was still on hold.

By Tiles, do you mean https://www.thetileapp.com/en-nz/  tiles?

I placed an order a week ago and the NZ Post's Tracking has them waiting 'international departure' in Sydney since Saturday...

bummer!

Yeah, exactly. Awaiting departure since [checks again] ... 18th June. *Sigh*

Had something sent during the middle of the lockdown that was here in about three days. Currently waiting on something else that's been stalled at Melbourne airport for a week and counting.

Melbourne? heheheh - noones going there in a hurry!

FYI the 3-4 weekly flights from all 3 centres to Aus have basically been canned. All bookings cancelled until end of month.

So likely due to being back to early covid freight quantities only... next to nil.

I'm still waiting for my new glasses; which come from Australia.  Melbourne??

The stupidly annoying thing is that according to the store's tracking, they are actually in NZ already - just on the donkey-cart coming from Auckland that has replaced the old-fashioned-yet-efficient courier network...

They left customs and into the bumbling paws of the donkey-crew last Friday.

Isn't this the new transport policy from the Greens?

I ordered a jacket from AU in May.

It arrived yesterday, though looking at the stickers on it, it came from the UK, via France. I just ordered it off a AU website in AUD - they obviously have a UK parent company which handled the orders.

No, the Greens transport policy would make the old-fashioned-yet-efficient courier network even more efficient by reducing its energy costs, and making it more pleasant to breathe by removing all the smoke they blow. Kinda like how the air felt in Level 4 but with cars still moving like Level 1. And if there's a bright spot in the Tiwai Point closure, it's that there's now 15% extra electricity capacity going begging to charge them all up with.

I contacted JB Hifi and they answered (impressively quickly btw) that it was sent on 29th May 'through the regular Australia Post surface mail network'. Does that imply via ship ? They sent a courier to collect it (or the website said 'awaiting courier' anyway) and I would have thought $19 postage might warrant airmail, but I suppose I can speculate till the cows come home...

And by the most amazing coincidence, one day after moaning here, both Blurays have just arrived (in separate boxes). Knew I should have moaned here about 3 weeks ago..

I am in the same boat (probably the same JB-HiFi sale!). I bought 4; they sent out 1 on the 22/5, 1 on the 1/6, then the remaining 2 on the 18/6. I got the 1/6 one yesterday, so not sure if that bodes well for the 22/5 one. Expecting the last 2 in a couple of weeks then.

Before COVID-19, they were usually 3-4 weeks via Australia Post air-mail, so it seems to be back to normal-ish. I have only been buying in small numbers from them, fully expecting them to lose them one of these days.
