Hi everyone

I thought it's worth reporting my appaling shopping experience with Flashcards.co.nz . To replace my damaged HD enclsoure with a new one, which I bought from them, I emailed them enquiring for an enclosure of the same model. **** ***** replied to me suggesting a particular enclosure to buy. However, when it arrived, I immediately realised the enclosure was totally different and incompatible, so I at once sent it back to them. Later, he replied to me again this time saying that the box had been damaged so he cannot resell it. This is despite the fact that they sent the item to me in a recyled package to deliver. When I phoned him, he went shouting that the box is damaged without giving me any info as to its content in a sarcastic tone. This is a very unfair trading and his whole salesmanship is a very nasty one characterised by full of sarcasm with no capability of listeninig to his consumer. The hard drive I bought from them broke in a few months time as well.

Conversely I've had 4 excellent experiences with flashcards.co.nz over about 18 months.

I've dealt with them on numerous occasions and had no issues whatsoever ever, infact I'd say they have the best service I've ever experienced from an online retailer. Even when I've returned product (incorrect product sent) they shipped the new products with a courier bag to send the incorrect goods back in. Not many companies will do that - they will normally want the products back before they ship the correct item.

I have had several transactions with them over the last 2 - 3 years. Their service was excellent, with fantastic advice, and a willingness to make sure things went well.

Shame to hear about your experience.

I have dealt with Daniel (Button) in the past. Never talked to Jason at all.

This thread surprised me as like the others I have only had excellent service and often recommend them to others. Of course we are only hearing your version of events and I have no reason to doubt what you are saying but I am about to buy another memory card soon for my new camera from them.

I have merely described what has happended at the top of this forum. If the salesman respects my consumer rights, he would not have replied to me rudely with sarcasm, but stated me the condition of the content of the box and would apologised for the fact that they actually sell the HD enclosure I enquired for. This series of events has clearly demonstrated at least their poor custmoer care.

Future viewers of this thread should be cautioned that some of the posts could have been posted by someone from Flashcards.

By that logic who's to say you aren't in competition with Flashcards.co.nz. Come on, be sensible. You're looking at replies from Geekzone users who have a combined 16,146 posts between them, compared to your two posts on here which gives very little credibility to your over zealous statements. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that every now and then someone gets shoddy service from a company with a good reputation, and I'm not doubting your story.....but I take exception that you would imply there are conspirators posting here just to undermine your posts.

I've used Flashcards probably half a dozen times over the last couple of years, and have nothing but goods things to say.
Plus, every time i make an order, I get a new pen!

Welcome to Geekzone. Firstly, this is an open and 'public' forum so sure there may be flashcard employees replying, but you may be a flashcards competitor out there to discredit your competition. I am not saying you are, but be careful about the accusations you are making.

Secondly I removed the name of the person you dealt with, this is to protect them from any personal attacks.Feel free to invite them here so that we can hear both sides of the story, and then if they agree we can put their name back into the post.

Future viewers of this thread should also be cautioned that this doesn't seem to be the case.

I also had good services from them and always recommended flashcards.co.nz. It looks like your experience was the exception, not the rule.

If you sent the unit back in the same packaging they sent it you in then I think you have a case to argue. If you sent it in different packaging then they have a case. Either way if you couriered it then you should make a claim under couriers liability.

I've had many really good experience.. and one strange one: I posted feedback on an item, and they deleted it. The feedback was on a silicon ipod case and I said the ipod could not be charged while in the case, and it would disintigrate if constantly removed.

When questioned why they deleted it, the reason given was that i hadn't made any mention of the great service i got from flashcards....
So, pinch of salt -- the feedback is moderated.
