He was very much pushing the limits on "any publicity is good publicity as long as they spell your name right"

Without being unkind, I don't think you can assume that. McAfee was never really that good of an Antivirus product!

It is very sad the affect mental health issues had on this man. RIP 

Sadly he was a man with many problems (success / money can do that to you) he fell from a great height in the business world, hopefully he is now at peace RIP
