I'm sure the McAfee corporation are very quietly, in their boardroom, saying "phew, about time".

He was very much pushing the limits on "any publicity is good publicity as long as they spell your name right"

Recommended reading: Wired - John McAfee Fled to Belize, But He Couldn't Escape Himself

The whole thing reads like a Hunter S. Thompson story.

There's an interesting documentary about John that covers his time and escape from there as well https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6071534/

Worth a watch
