Hello,

My name is Mackenzie, I'm 15 and I'm looking into getting some old/broken apple laptops for a project that I am working on. I've asked a few friends about where I can get some and one of them suggested you take in broken computers for recycling. If this is true, is there any way to get some from you if they would otherwise go to be recycled or can you send me in the direction to get some if you know where some are. I am from Palmerston North.

Thanks you for your help

Sorry I can't help you with your query, Mackenzie, but to increase the chance of people reading your thread (and therefore get more responses) can I suggest you change the title to something more specific? Something like "Looking for old or broken Apple laptops for project - where to source?" may help!

Edit - I should add that the PN City Council does accept computer equipment for recycling; I think this is at its Fergusson St depot. Not sure whether it's worth contacting them?

I'm from Palmy and have an early 2008 black MacBook which is suitable for parts only.

Display, logic board & case are fine.
Battery is toast. Keyboard has a fault where it pairs the 7&8, U&I, J&K, M&, keys together if pressed.
No HDD.

You're welcome to have that if it's what's you need? I'm currently away until mid November though.

I have a couple - are you looking for anything specifically?
