I just finished watching the final ever of lost after 6 years and 6 seasons ... I don't even know what really happened, it started off great with the 1st and 2nd season, so many lose ends, what was the back story with Michael son Walt, and prob alot more I don't even remember... what was with the side stories which keept changing, was that spose to be in the future in the past? Random golden hole in the end...

I think the writers just didn't know how to end it, and like how lots of good starting american TV shows after they start successfully they just try to ride it for the money and after lots of seasons they didn't know how to end it, and just wrote a dumb as ending cause they don't really care about the audience anymore

What are your thoughts?

I thought the same (not that I've watched it yet *ahem*...). The writers wanted to wrap it up earlier than they did but the studio insisted they keep it going and it got, well, lost...

6 seasons was too many and all the side stories, parallel universes, time travel, fantastical sh*t happening is just too much to contain.

Same thing has happened to Heroes and now they've canned it completely and may not even make a wrap-up episode...

But yeah, 6 years lol...

I enjoyed it, the whole series including the final. It's science fiction, you don't need an answer to everything. It succeeded in making the viewer think about plot points rather than just consume the show like most other television. I thought the whole final season really was an extension of the final episode, so I treated the whole sixth season as one big finale for the series as a whole.

It was a social experiment to see how easy it is to get people addicted. I gave up after S2 or 3....

Gave up on Lost at end of Season 3. I tried to pick it up a couple of times over the last year or so, no avail. sat on the Tivo for a few months, then deleted. Aha I thought, maybe the final season would explain all - nah, still lost :-)

Started well, but too much jumping backwards, forwards, sideways, etc. No coherency

Ditto with Heroes - started well, but gave up thru the second season. Even my teenage kids really enjoyed the first season. Now, they can't be bothered with it.

Life's too long to watch bad TV :-)

I never watched *any* episode of Lost. And I don't think I missed anything. Similar thing happened to The X Files... After season 7 they could've just finished it, but they kept it going - without Mulder - for another two seasons. What a waste.

The American version of Life in Mars was a good one in terms of closure. They decided to can it after Season 1, but the last episode gave the explanations for everything that happened during the (short lived) series. Very good stuff. Worth watching it.

X Files was awsome.

Not when the T-1000 (I don't know the actor's name) came in to the scene though.

Isn't the T1000 from Terminator?

I've just finished watching the entire series start to end, and it was great. Every episode was awesome.

Except the last one.

*SPOILERS BE HERE*

The fact that they end it with "Oh, they're dead" really ruined it for me. Maybe its just because I don't believe in the afterlife or anything, but I found their time at the Dharma initiative was much more explantory, and everything after that kind of went down hill. The temple and all the other spiritual stuff? Meh, give me more sci-fi.

Yeah the T-1000 is metal liquid man in T2: Judgement Day.
