We are running a competition to help you win a LG Optimus 2X Android smartphone, so you can work, play, network better at home, at the office or on the go.

The LG Optimus 2X is a smartphone running Android 2.2.2 (upgradeable to 2.3 by end of October 2011 according to 2degrees mobile), with a beautiful screen. The 1GHz dual core NVIDIA Tegra CPU makes it a very fast smartphone.

On top of this I have a 2degrees SIM card with $50 credit to go with it.

How to enter the competition (make sure you read it):

1
. Reply to this thread with what you have now and why you think a LG Optimus 2X would be ideal for you (any geeky answer is valid too);

2. You get an extra entry if your entry has a picture of your existing smart/dumb phone. Remember to upload the picture to Geekzone, then use the Compose Reply button to post your reply with the picture. Do not post in a separate entry. Also you can only edit your post in the first 15 minutes, so have the picture ready before posting. If the image doesn't show up make sure the URL doesn't have a space at the end (%20 in the URL when copy/paste).

3. If you are on Twitter and want additional entries then use the retweet button below to post to Twitter about this competition. You can send this out once a day and will get one extra entry per day. Note the strict only one entry per day rule. No Twitter spam. Also you only get additional entries on Twitter if you replied to this thread first.

The fineprint:
This competition is open until the 15th June, when a single entry will be drawn. Open to New Zealand users only. No purchase necessary. More than one Twitter entry a day will invalidate all your entries. Previously banned users are not eligible to win. Only one reply in this topic. Multiple entries in this topic will invalidate all your entries. This handset will not work on Telecom XT.

It's a phone called OPTIMUS. No reason necessary.

It doesn't have i-mate in it's title. Or WinMob 5. Or lack of 3G. Or a low-res screen. Or.... it's not remotely like my long-standing current petite brick.

someday, fashions will revolve back to this being uber :)

I want to get the LG Optimus 2X because my Mum has a crappy Vodafone 845 and the screen is utterly destroyed:

Here's my current fail 2degree's "feature phone". Nokia 2730 :(
Some android loving would be a lot better than this symbian garbage!

My good lady is envious of my Android phone.

This one of hers has no Angry Birds or Doodle Jump.

That situation needs remedying immediately. Winning the Optimus 2x would keep me in brownie points for ages

I have a Nokia e63, my partner's LG Optimus One is awesome though and I want one (an Android). Nokia seems so limited by comparison.

I have a Huawei/Vodafone 745, and if I won the LG I would have 2 phones.  So I would _be_ the 2X phone guy

Who are we?

I have a Nokia 6220c and I have angry bird envy as my partner has a phone that is capable of playing it and I don't. Also, the ability to use wifi would be very handy.
