Well I have to eat some crow, I thought SBW was going to have his clock cleaned by Tillman tonight.

I was making all manner of comments with my workmates, but well, I was wrong, that was a nice left hook and a few nice follow ups he got in there.

He's a pretty muscle bound looking dude as well.

I'm in that same boat.

Was going to put a bet through on TAB, ended up forgetting about it as we had a last minute change of plans...

I thought the guy he fought was fat... he was carrying a spare tire. I am starting to find his, and his mates Tony Mundines, fights boring .. they are usually against over weight or old or both no bodies.

SBW would know he had a fight on his hands if he came up against me! *wallop!*

WinkFlick him a tweet, he might take you up on it.

Good on SBW.  Only saw the short highlights on the news this morning.  I'm not a huge boxing fan so can't justify the $xx for the PPV.  Even if I was fan though, probabaly would have felt a bit ripped off given the short duration.  Apparently it turned out to cost 22c per second, that's pretty dear entertainment.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Good on SBW, but the whole thing was nothing but a big publicity stunt IMO, with just slightly better actors than in the WWF arena. Lets see how he goes with a real opponent.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I was in the same boat. Thought SBW would get KOed, but also a little part of me wanted him to win after the antics from the day before.

Now that he is showing some skill in the ring there may be some better contenders for him, I guess most pro's would see him as a show pony & wouldn't fight him... lets see if that changes

New respect for him now GO SBW!!!

To be honest I don't bother with these fights. This really seemed to me like the NZ version of the Anthony Mundine fight a few years ago, complete with Anthony Mundine.

You know the sports hero is going to win, it's a forgone conclusion.

I say the best boxing is welter weight, give me Oscar De La Hoya Vs Roy Jones. Now that was a fight!

How does fighting an unknown American make SBW the New Zealand Heavyweight Champion? Was Tilman the previous? or did SBW buy it  on Trademe?

What a joke of a fight. Man I really dislike Sonny Bill Williams. No commitent or honour, just heading wherever the money/limelight is....

SBW was paying $40 (unconfirmed) for a knockout in the first round.  Even a bunt at $5 would've been an amazing return.

wasn't expecting SBW to knock him out in the first round, but that he would win was prettymuch a foregone conclusion.
A better boxer than Tillman would have taken the fall to give himself 10 seconds to pull himself together instead of trying to standup and take more punches to the head

heard a funny comment on the radio yesterday something like

DJ1: "you can tell Sonny Bill knows his way around a Gym"

DJ2: "Yeah, and tillman certianly knows his way around the Pie Shop"

Apparently for his next fight, SBW wants to go up against someone younger & fitter - Gerry Brownlee.
