I've been having a hell of a time getting my UFB installed (And working!). Here's a timeline:

16 August - Placed UFB order.

19 August - Chorus calls. Scope booked for 13 September and install for 26 September

12 September - Tech calls and agrees on 8am booking.

13 September - SMS from tech 30 minutes before agreed time to say he is off sick. Scope finally happens around 3pm

26 September - Call from Chorus at 12:30pm (for a PM booking) to say tech has been off sick all day, install happening next day

27 September - Install happens, but a records error means the ONT doesn't come online

28 September - Tech comes back, records error hasn't been resolved

4 October - Call from Chorus, tech is booked for 30 November to come and fix the issue

11 October - Update from Chorus, tech is now booked for 17 November to fix the issue.

So here I am, with an ONT on my wall, and no connection, and now I have to wait a month for Chorus to come out and fix their own mistake!

I guess I was pretty lucky with my Chorus tech. My ONT could not go live on Day1 either due to some config problem.

But he chased it up himself and came back 2 days later and finished the job.

Then we had no dial tone, so he chased that too and he gave me the number to call to get it going if it was still offline the next day.

I had his number to ring if I got no joy myself.

He was the sort of guy who liked to see a job through and finish what he started.

Hooray for Jeremy.

Yeah our tech did that on the first try, but now he doesn't pick up when I call him :(

At least your ONT is on the wall. Out of interest, where in the country are you?

We've been having a hell of a time in the south auckland areas lately. Eventually got talking a tech that has the north shore patch and they got things sorted heaps faster.
