Hi All,

Up until about a week ago my address was showing Fibre would be available Feb2017. Now a day or 2 before the end of the month figured I would check again...and now there is no date showing at all. We had the mailout last year saying fibre would soon be available yadda yadda,

I'm hoping it got removed because they are changing it to available? or is that wishful thinking!

anyone seen this before? , thanks.

We had that happen for our area. A few days later it came up with fibre available, so I wonder whether they hit a minor hiccup and rather than give a false date, they removed the date until they were sure.

Here's hoping that's the case, haven't seen any chorus or other contractors in the street.

At all, or recently? They typically do the bulk of the work a few months before go-live.

Other than what appears to be the standard 1 or 2 working on ppl's property's nothing unusual.

I understand that they actually laid the fibre or conduit last year sometime when the road got fully rebuilt. I had a contact at Spark check with Chorus for me and according to them it should be available and apparently " hrm that's really unusual...let me check on that for you" was mentioned.....lol

So yea seems its quite unusual

According to Chorus its just a glitch and they will fix it up in the mean time I was told to just do a manual feasibility request with ISP (which ive done) and it should go through...here's hoping!

So all found and installed. Does anyone know the actual process for the fibre speed boost? I've had 4 different things from chorus techs and 2degrees. I ordered the full speed 1000/500 but now I'm being told it requires another job logged with chorus once the initial install job is complete. The chorus tech told me they don't have anything to do with the speed increase

Someone else from 2 degrees told me it was just a simple profile change and modem restart on their end once the jobs closed...

Anyone actually know what the process is??!? And whys everything with ISP's so convoluted with so much double handling!!!

Both of these statements are correct.

Your ISP logs a job with Chours, Chorus then performs the profile change to your line.

This only takes 1-2 business days and is all done remotely. Don't get worked up over something so small. :)
