Hi,

I know this has been covered off before, but I haven't seen anything for a while.

I'm looking at moving from Bigpipe to Spark Unplan. Bigpipe has been great, but we are watching more streaming stuff and Netflix and LB would be handy as included extras.

Bigpipe say they need about 5 working days notice.

Do I sign up for Spark and then inform BP?

What's the best order to do it in for the least downtime? Already have Fibre connected, so there shouldn't be need for a technician.

Just do the port straight across. Should be no downtime (@hio77 can confirm) as I believe it is simply a billing change.

OK, so arrange the port for maybe a few days before my billing date? Happy to pay for a couple of weeks doubled up, but really don't want to pay for another month with BP if I'm not using it.

Contact new provider (Spark) first. Advise them you want to connect on a particular date, which will be governed by your old providers disconnection notice requirements.

Wait for confirmation of connection date from your new provider.

Contact losing provider advising them you want to disconnect and on what date (the date above).

~~But you're talking really about moving from/to the same provider, so probably as per the post above from MM.~~

The provisioning still needs to happen within sparks stack.

While BP share the core network, all other systems are very different.

As you noted, Yes they also use a different handover, requiring a change on chorus side.

Chorus also need to do the changes on their side to allow all testing and provisioning functionality etc
