I just thought I would highlight what everyone in Kirwee probably already knows, that internet access in Kirwee is getting even worse and now includes periods where it virtually unusable. Extremely frustrating.

Have you written to the Commerce Commission and MBIE yet? What response did you get?

Plenty of ideas in my recent blog post on the BUBA issue. http://www.geekzone.co.nz/sbiddle/8780

I'm in the process of contacting Amy Adams, waiting for a reply. On her web site "Fast, reliable internet is essential to building a more competitive and productive economy for all New Zealanders."
Depending on the reply (if any) I'll then contact the commerce commission.

The MBIE and Commerce Commission should be your first point of call, not your last. The reasons for this are pretty well explained in my blog which talks about your very issue.

Taipo, PM me your email address, we making some slow progress with Chorus and Amy. I've written to her (and you should too regardless of what people on here say) as we are getting some encouraging sounds from that camp. There are a few of us working on this for the community and it will most likely come down to the additional $$ promised in the last election or 150 houses each putting in $500 each to get us upgraded.

The Selwyn District Council are also doing investigations to see if they can contribute - they doing a business case to see if it stacks up.

ComCom were useless and said it is not their issue, MBIE did the same.

However, write to Amy, MBIE, ComCom and see if the additional noise will get someone to listen.

In addition, Amy said National are undertaking a review of ALL RBI towers to see if they are working as advertised. They have indicated that the tower in West Melton might not be delivering the promised benefits from the investment they have made which either means they made a bad investment choice in RBI wireless or the tower configuration is not correct.

The results of this investigation will take 2 months.

If you don't get your exchange upgraded, wireless RBI is your best option. I would look into that.

Looks like Kirwee might be getting its exchange upgraded (along with some other smaller locations). Wonder if Outram also made the list?

There will be some announcements coming up soon, but I can't say anything at the moment.

Nah Kirwee has internet. I'd say it'll cover those who don't complain.
