Contracts and sale of goods acts still apply to business, and thats what people used before the damn CGA came along to sort problems like this out, so it will still be fine.

I'm reasonably certain the vast majority of people signed up to this plan are residential users.  For my part I run a business, and I earn a few dollars here and there on line(quite a few in the past few months actually), but I pay for my internet myself, not as a business expense, so I should be fine if it comes to that.
And even so, Woosh must be pretty damn optimistic to pin all thier hopes on that.

A disputes tribunal fee is only fifty dollars and you win if they don't show up. It's still cheaper than ninty nine.

Back to the Topic "Woosh - slightly faster than dial up"

I read with interest an article on Page 5 of this week's Computerworld where Woosh CEO Kevin Wiley states. "A Woosh customer within our covererage can enjoy 1.5MB/s on downlink and 500-700kbit/s on uplink"

Doesn't sound like many are experiencing these speeds. I for one would love to see this performance from our office Woosh Wireless broadband connection.

And Woosh says they can't provide better services because they don't have access to wireless spectrum... No word on their network problems though.

The government is blind...

Well the $hit has finally hit the fan. Just got an email from Woosh:

"

Dear Customer

Woosh is currently undertaking a review of its rate plans & services offered, and have identified that you are on a legacy plan that we are no longer offering.

Getting a good deal for your broadband is important to us so we will be changing you to the best equivalent price plan Orbit 10 on the 12/12/2007.

This plan costs what you are paying now & offers the same speeds; it does however have a monthly data cap of 10GB.

Should you have any queries or wish to discuss other rate plans, please visit our website, or call our Contact Centre on 0800496674.

Regards

The Woosh Customer Services Team "

It was fun while it lasted I guess... Time to move to Slingshot for their 2mb download plan and add 30gb onto it. This seriously sucks... Are Woosh even allowed to do this? -_-

The end was foretold before time was time, many, many forum posts ago...

We all knew this was coming, no surprise.

It would be interesting to know, just how many customers Woosh has lost to other ISP's as a result of this debacle, and if they really thought they would retain these customers after treating them in such ways and forcing them to change plan?

Xnet - recommended: no contract; if you use less, you pay less; excellent help desk.

... say Brucie44 sent you there so I can get some of the referral credits please.

                  regards, Bruce.

Unbelievable - One month after I switch to another provider, what do I get in my mail box but an account for another month with woosh.  Not only do they want to charge my broadband prices for dialup, they want to charge me the same for no internet at all.

Lol perhaps they're charging you extra because they think you're getting better service now that you're not with them
