stevehodge:
Firmware upgrade? What firmware are you on?

Thanks for the reply,
From the firmware update page:
FRITZ!OS 05.51

Firmware version: 99.05.51
No firmware was found that is newer than the installed version.

Did you update it recently?

There are rumors that the latest firmware doesn't allow SNRM tweaking (possibly in error).

Do you have a 7340 or a 7390?

I have a 7340, I haven't updated it. (but then it is only 2 months old).

edit: I just looked at an export file I took 1 month ago, and it was firmware 99.05.22i, so it looks like the firmware has been updated - but I didn't do it, what's with that?

Does anyone have a previous firmware image they could link me to please?

Thanks.

I Think I just deleted a post which I just posted before, well let me retype that again.

Random CRC Spike, Looks like the DLM gave me a resync this morning, back to normal now which should be around 4 crc errors every 24 hours.

Something did catch my eye which I was looking at the event log tho.

SO WHat do you think? Looked like I had a 54/10 line for like 2 minutes before it gave up on me and kicked me back to my normal 39/10 line.

Damager:
Dairusire: So, I'm a little confused about some stuff thats happening with my VDSL connection. I recently moved to a new provider, full flavour media. Which seems great so far.

The problem I've been coming across so far is with the new modem I've been sent out, I get a 0 on my attenuation, be it upstream or down stream. Result of this is far greater speeds that I've ever recieved before. But I'm getting rather high error rates.... Modem is a Innbox V50-U

any ideas? Put on a faulty port or faulty modem? I would assume even though the modem might not be reading the Error rates propperly, surely the port does...

Nice it isn't just me! My attenuation has been 0 since the start as well

haha yeah it is nice aye :P I was a little concerned but meh I dont really care haha. DLM-1 FTW lol

Normal DLM resyncs occur at about 4:10am. So it may not be DLM initiated.

Yes, the first resync gave you a weird connection. I've had it happen to me too. It doesn't necessarily mean a DLM level change, for me it was just an unusually low SNRM target. That is why your errors were so high. Then something has caused a resync again (probably lost the connection due to SNRM dropping below 0) and the new connection has come back up normally.

Hmm, I didn't know that the Fritz had an auto update option!

Here's the 99.05.22 version of the firmware:

Recovery Image .exe - FRITZ.Box_Fon_WLAN_7340.en-de-es-it-fr.05.22.recover-image.exe (15.0 MB)

Straight firmware image - FRITZ.Box_Fon_WLAN_7340.en-de-es-it-fr.99.05.22.image (15.3 MB)

DLM moves in mysterious ways, but I think you're seeing the beginnings of 17a testing on your line.

Goodie, Hoping to get 17a on this line soon or at least 50/10 Sealed

I'll see if my DLM does anything tomorrow morning, Tomorrow would be the last day of my testing phase..

I still haven't got round to chasing snap up about reseting DLM after the whole street lamp noise thing, and I probably won't bother now - finally got bumped back to DLM2 automatically this morning. Just goes to show how long even a relatively short period of very high errors can affect the DLM process. I guess it'll be over a month by the time I get back to DLM1.

I should rent out this innbox... LOL with its ability to ignore attenuation would be fantastic for people with good lines making them able to get on the 17a profile haha

If only ;) Your speeds aren't what they should be for 0 db attenuation so obviously the DSLAM knows what the real number is.

haha that is cool, although this does raise a issue... What the hell was my fritz!box doing? I could NEVER get sync speeds of 41mb/s with it.... let alone DLM-1
