It's almost like the newer firmware has a +2db SNRM by default. Others have mentioned that SNRM tweaking (even via the standard 'stability vs performance' settings in the 'line settings' tab does not work with the latest version.

I believe that the graph will change as you adjust SNRM.

The bit loading graph will change, the SNR graph will change with line conditions and not SNR tweaks.

Well had a DLM resync at 4am, It put bitswap on and latency up to 8ms ? I think DLM is trolling me. Also line is set to max performance. But SNR is 14 by default. Should i downgrade the firmware or just let DLM do its thing ?

Router is a 7390. Cabinet is 30 meters as the bird flys, Maybe 80-90 meters I guestimate line length.

@cruxis: Hmm, that's a bit odd, DLM shouldn't have downgraded you based on your line stats! Might be worth a firmware downgrade. Just disconnect the line from the router first, do your upgrade and any reboots, then once it's back up again, plug the line back in. This will save you from unnecessary disconnections being registered with DLM.

That would have to be your own choice, You don't appear to have much to lose by trying the older firmware but it may not change anything.

@cruxis I think I would just wait cause aren't you still on your 10 day testing period?

Now how would I do this firmware downgrade, Someone is gonna have to walk me thru it, also am I gonna have to fiddle around with setting everything back up again? (eg. dsl settings etc.)

I was gonna wait until my 1 month period to post some new graphs but its 3 days away so I'll post them anyways.
Here are my current line stats

It looks like my line is pretty stable cause I don't think I have seen a CRC error in awhile.

Thanks Xternal for helping me try to downgrade my firmware, I was able to downgrade it altho I couldn't find a way to restore my settings from newer firmware to older, so I gave up on that idea.

My speeds dropped backed (after I had my fritz offline) to when I had my first sync a month ago which isn'ta big deal its only slower 500 kbits anyways.

Hi all,
just a quick update. Early hours of the morning the connection was re-synced and I was connected to DLM-1. I would just like to know if I should expect higher sync speeds. So far the only change I have seen is a latency reduction from 26ms down to 10ms. Thanks

Had a resync last night and back on DLM-1 now, sadly lost another few Mbps :( from 28Mbps to 25.4Mbps

@HiTM4N: Looking good there, errors nice and low. Leave it for a while, then you could probably get back the lost Mbps through SNR tweaking if you felt like it.

(EDIT: Were you testing on wifi or something? Just wondering about the 2ms to your fritzbox and the variable first hop latency)

Testing was done on my server which is attached over a NetComm Powerline adapter (lives in the garage now)

I just did a traceroute to stuff.co.nz on DLM-1 and I get around the same ping times as you, so I dont really see whats wrong there.

Just unusual to see latency to modem\router more than 1ms.

Sorry, nothing wrong with first external hop though, I glanced at the wrong line and thought it was varying between 7 and 13.
