Ahhh I got kicked from DLM 1.... looks like its just doing its thing I guess.... stuck on DLM 2 now.... Not even sure when this happened, guess it happened during the last resync.

dont be saying that! im due to move to 2db in a week and a bit!

the 2db mark seems to get to that point where your almost too close it seems.. and then DLM seems to do odd things!

i get the feeling with the recent uptake of vdsl with other isps, there has been more tweaks done to DLM, its working patterns seems to have changed a tad.. even down to the level inwhich it gets previsioned at..

Well do post some lines stats when you do move, It would be interesting to see what others would get when they are "too close"

it seems to be more of an issue with the .51 firmware, seems to be a common thing popping up (in-which im running currently, so that will be a test indeed.)

but there were one or two people who commented that they had some sort of an issue with being "too close" - which to me does seem a tad odd, considering when your further away, your trying to get closer!

I can confirm, the latest firmware does not work correctly if you are too close. I sat my 10 Day period on it and the best I got was 40 Mbit and DLM 2 and more crc errors.

As soon as I downgraded to  FRITZ!OS 0.5.22 I instantly got 50Mbit and switched to DLM 1, and still hoping for a switch to 17a one day. My fritzbox length to cabinet is 40 meters roughly measured.

My line is cat5e almost to Demarc point, then into old Trurip cable out to pole. It is a Naked VDSL to single Jack point  with no Splitter. I use a cable conecter block to join the cat5e to the trurip cable as the gauge is to heavy for switchlocks.

Also It seems SNAP! plans only offer VDSL upto 50Mbit, so 17a not likely with SNAP ?

My Line length from demarc point.

thanks, something to be aware of then..

17a is possible with snap just as much as any other isp.. its all DLM controlled.

I'm on 17a with Snap. I think that 17a is available to a pretty low percentage of customers so they don't advertise it. I think only 3 or 4 people have reported being on 17a here.

never knew the push service gave quite so useful stats..

Which firmware is that? My 7340/05.22 only shows the downstream side on the graph in the push service email.

HowickDota: What's the proper procedure for downgrading the firmware? I've tried going through web gui and uploading the .image file, but the router just restarted with the same firmware.
Perhaps I need to use telnet?

cant say i have tried. but AVMs site.. http://service.avm.de/support/en/SKB/FRITZ-Box-7390-int/761:Installing-an-older-version-of-the-FRITZ-Box-firmware-downgrade
