hio77: sooo, tech visited today..
turns out, hes not a vdsl tech. simply a tech filling in for another.. why a replacement vdsl tech wasnt set out for that, i really dont understand...
after letting him tinker for a good 20 mins or so, i went to him "urm mate, i dont mean to be telling you how to do your job, but as part of a vdsl installation, is it not mandatory to run a cat5e line from the ETP?"
he had to contact chorus previsioning to check this, responding with, it is a rental and so no cables are too be ran.
so after making him dig around, inspect everything.. turns out, out line is on the second pair of the neighbours connection, even though there are two lines ran to the house.
i was given the offer to have a cable ran from the hot water cupboard(yes, that wasnt a alarm line afterall) but then, its straight back into the rats nest of wiring that needs sorting so wasnt much point at all.
so, now we need to have chorus out, to do their wiring from the pole, and then vision stream can come back out to do the internal wiring...
oh and apparently this is one of the few areas with cable running to it, what a shame snap cant run us over that!
gfs comments are "maybe we should just move". this is getting absurd now..
waiting on the tech that came out to submit his notes so we can make any possible press on an update...
We will happily provide service for you

But hold on, you have a problem... we wonder where it's coming from (I know Telecom and Chorus are two "DIFFERENT" companies now, but I couldn't resist)

No, we've got nothing to do with it, it must be your wiring:

Yes, we can help
