Shrapz:

Saw this on the chorus document about who will benefit from the vectoring upgrade

"Existing ADSL customers who can upgrade to the faster more stable vectored VDSL connection."

Is this implying that the reach for VDSL will be improved and those who currently can only get ADSL will potentially be able to get VDSL?

Or is this just a blurb about those who have access to VDSL now, will have access to a faster VDSL if they were to change?

Looking for any signs of hope of getting off my 12mbit adsl connection

@chorusnz may be best to advise on this one since it's their content....

I'd logically say yes it can improve things.

I've now tried 2 modems one being the NF4V and the other being ASUS DSL-AC56U, both showing no signs of vectoring or g.inp being enabled. Any help? My cabinet is TAW/AC

was the nf4v plugged in this morning?  it may be that you were detected as not supporting vectoring.  i have no idea if the asus supports vectoring, but i have vectoring working on nf4v since 4 am.

I had the Asus plugged in with the vectoring settings enabled, but only recently plugged the NF4V in to see if I could get it to sync with vectoring enabled but that didn't happen.

well it's supposed to support vectoring.  i wonder if anyone else has that modem and has vectoring working.

Thanks for that. Is this just the cabinets? I note our exchange placed ISAM is missing but the cabinet along the road is showing.

Derp.

i looked up TAW/C!

There was no service drop on linecard, that would tell me change on profiles didnt happen.

Double digit examples on this side indicating DSLAM has fallen back to non vectored state.

This error implys modem compatibility and/or linecard.

in this case, i suspect line card.

I've also seen this happen with other areas, being that it was part of the trail never actually had a answer to the reason for it happening.

Hi guys,

TAW_AC was 1 of a small group (8 DSLAMs) which didn't have vectoring enabled as planned last night.
These 8 ISAMs were picked up by the deployment tool as having a hardware or software issue which prevented the switch on of Vectoring.

Due to planned work notification lead times, these will be added to some kind of wash-up night at the end of the deployment.

Vectoring and G.INP was enabled on my suburban line last night. As expected a mixed bag, with downstream improving from 105 to 121 Mbps, but upstream of 46 dropping to 29.3 Mbps (aka exactly 30000 kbps). Pity about the upstream clamp but I guess others will appreciate their downstream boost more.

That's actual downstream or attainable downstream?
