post your line stats if you want, can pick through them and give you a few estimates too.

Mainly because we have everything - 2 mobiles, Sky TV and broadband - through VF.

Where would I find the line stats?

Chorusnz: There is Chorus VDSL in the Martinborough exchange, so if you are in the township you have a good chance of getting it.

Note: Some ISPs only offer VDSL where they have their own DSLAMs in a Chorus exchange, or don't offer Wholesale-based VDSL if they have their own infrastructure (Community Wi-Fi, Fixed Wireless, Cable, Fibre). This is completely logical and to be expected.

Go to www.chorus.co.nz/maps and look up your address and then shop around.

You map is using incorrect data. It lists our address as being in Ponatahi, which is about 20km away!

I finally got NZ Post to correct their maps but yours must be using the older data. It just says 'outside area of planned coverage' though.

given map confusions, ild tread very carefully around plausible false results.

i personally have had multiple prequals on locations done, inwhich one was over GZ (so i had typed the address.) attenuation figures were WAY off what my ISP had given. end of the day, ISP was correct.

i have never touched the new vodafone modems (im assuming your using their hg ranges) so i cant tell you exactly.

but ild expect there would be a DSL Statistics page reasonably easily found. - i have heard a few bad things about their UI too though unfortunately..

2.8db attenuation, would be about a 40~/10 on 8b and around a 60~/10 on 17a (which your line looks to be in good running for)

your SNR is a little higher than it should be, nothing to really be concerned about though.

Urm? Too far? With a 3db downstream attenuation? Doesn't quite line up.

Given sync speed his attenuation doesn't look to be miss reporting. Seems like the results don't line up with what is actually the case.

Looks like a case of chorus tools being wrong.

We did this!!

i understand that john, what im saying, is given his stats, the prequal doesnt seem right.

im not at all saying there isnt some other issue that also is stopping vdsl. nor am i saying he can defiantly get it.

all im simply pointing out, is distance has been said to be the problem, however given his attenuation, he would be approximately, less than 200M from the cabinet/exchange.
